my grandpa (opa) died april 24th, 4 yrs. ago from a different type of cancer. he had moved from indiana to be closer to his kids, and grandkids,and then the doctor diagnoised him 13 yrs. ago when he moved down here.he was sick on and off .he was in the va in durham and when i was turning 16 i just wanted to see him in stead of doing anyhting else .somedays it is hard for me to get through a day with out him .
I'm sorry for your loss, Chrystal. It is very difficult to lose someone close. Just remember, there is no time limit on grief, but do try to keep moving forward, I'm sure he would want that.
