Wow this is commendable
I also questioned her age many times. I am almost 60 and in my mind Vera's attitudes seemed to place her as much older. I have no qualms about being seen as an elder who deserves respect however I definitely don't think I even remotely think I qualify as being an "old lady".
I love how this was worked into the second book, and Vera plays up or plays down her age depending on her mood and motives
