About Vera- you say she is 60 years old but you refer to her as an old lady. If you hadn't mentioned her age, from all you wrote I'd have guessed she was, maybe 85 years old. When you reach your 60th year will you appreciate being called an old lady?

Yes I will, because in my culture, same as Vera's, the older you are, the more respect you garner, therefore to be seen as old is a sign of respect. Have a nice day! :)

hii! i wanna say that i really love dial a for aunties. i'm chinese-indo and i read this book during cny this year and it hit really hard HAHAH. i really loved the way you represented the culture in the book. so, related to that, how do you do it so smoothly? i also want to write a story with indonesians as the mcs, but i find it hard to put in the culture without making it awkward 😭 so.. how? ada saran nggak?
