I had only played the Super Nintendo version of Donkey Kong that did not have any ties to Mario like the arcade one. I realized later that even the Super Mario movie that just came out has a scene between Mario and Donkey Kong that is more of a nod to the arcade - I feel so silly not knowing! 😂 Thanks for taking the time!
I was confused by that point as well (for the same reason)! I appreciate the explanation.
