Thanks! Any chance of it eventually making its way to Libro.fm, where purchases can support indie booksellers? Or to a platform where public libraries could buy it? (I know these options require a lot of work that usually doesn't pay off for authors, so no judgment if the answer is "No.")
I'd *like* to expand to other distributors, but in this case, it's the publisher's decision. They have a contract with Audible, so it is, sadly, out of my hands.
With my independently produced books, I've been trying various avenues to distribute more widely, but Audible definitely has a chokehold on the audiobook market. :( They give us the option of 40% royalties for exclusive, or 25% royalties for wide, and with many audiobooks barely breaking even at 40%... you can see the problem. :-/ It's incredibly frustrating, but I am certainly continuing to look into viable options for expanding my audiobook availability!
(As an aside, even 40% is a complete ripoff -- I pay for 100% of the production, but Audible takes 60%-75% for distributing. It's such a scam, I just haven't been able to find an alternative.)
