My mother was a romance writer who wrote and sold two stories a month to the Confession market for over thirty years. Obviously she didn't wait for an elusive muse to float in. She just sat down at the typewriter, armed with a Coke and a Hershey bar, and cranked them out. In later years she told me the only reason she wanted to go to heaven was to meet Mark Twain. You would have loved her.
