      My mother was a romance writer who wrote and sold two stories a month to the Confession market for over thirty years. Obviously she didn't wait for an elusive muse to float in. She just sat down at the typewriter, armed with a Coke and a Hershey bar, and cranked them out. In later years she told me the only reason she wanted to go to heaven was to meet Mark Twain.
