Meghan I find writer’s block to be one of two things: poor habits or fear. In the first type, I lack an adequate flow of ideas because I am not consistently reading and writing. I always have more ideas when I’m doing both regularly. Adequate white space is also essential. I need the space to mull things over.

The second type is harder to address because there isn’t a clear way to handle it. But, to conquer my fears of doing it badly, I simply focus on word count and ignore whether or not it’s good. Good is for later drafts. Draft one is for getting it done. To conquer my fears of people reading my book or finding the right outlet for it, I choose to focus only on the current step. One step at a time.

Regardless of the type of writer’s block, the solution lies is uncovering the root cause. 😊
