I loved the Berenstain Bear books, anything by Shel Silverstein and the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark series. As I got older, I read lots of the Fear Street books and Point Horror books. I also discovered The Hobbit and LOTR. (which I have re-read 4 times and still love them.) :)
