Recently I bought a non-fiction book called "Ageless", by Andrew Steele, which gets forbiddingly technical in places. However, I gather from it that research into this subject is proceeding apace (albeit underfunded), and that it may become possible not only to delay aging but even to reverse it: to restore lost youth. At some time in the future, humanity may live in a state of eternal youth, looking back on us in pity and horror. Alas, it will probably come too late for me, too.
