Lizzie This question brought to mind a previous post when Lois was discussing attracting new readers. My daughter reads Lois' books too and when I made the comment to her, her first response was that to attract new and younger readers Lois should make a RPG.

I am not interested in playing games, be it RPG or Pokemon - I suspect the difference between being almost 60 vs. thirty-something.

Lois Bujold I enjoyed the games I sampled back in the 80s, but it quickly became apparent that if I allowed myself to get sucked in, my children would die, my house would burn down, and my nascent career would go down the toilet. Games were for people with untrammeled free time; as the mother of small children, I was more like a fireman on-call 24/7.

So I had to let that ship sail without me.

Mai-Anh Lizzie, if your daughter is interested in tabletop RPGs (in addition to video game RPGs), there is a Vorkosigan Saga sourcebook available using the GURPS system: http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/books/vo...

Leela I'm 50 and I game. I was thinking that Bioware could maybe use their awesome technology to actually make movies. I've been singing the praises of these books on the Orphan Black down the rabbit hole facebook group which actually has some of the actors on the show as members. I find a lot of the plot points in OB make me think of the Vorkosigan universe, and I'd love to introduce fans of the show to these books. The Leda clones were going to be wiped out this season as obsolete technology. Neolution makes me think of Jackson Whole... that sort of thing.
