Tarl Robotech was my first anime as well, so I know where you are coming from on that. The anime game bases you mentioned were all great games, and knowing that, I can see their influences in your storytelling.
And, because I have to ask, you mention anthro animals in your last paragraph. Are you a furry yourself?
(I am myself, so I thought I would ask)

Isaac Crowe I have not yet labeled myself a furry, but I have not called myself a brony either, despite anxiously awaiting season 7 of My Little Pony and a growing collections of items related to show. I think partly it is because I expect someone to come up and say I'm not because I don't do x or y. Also, I have not had a lot of opportunity to socialize with the furry community. For the moment, the best I can give you is to say I am closer to a yes than a no. I have rather enjoyed wearing my ears, tail and collar that I don for conventions to "help promote my book".

Tarl *nods* That makes sense. (is also a Brony, just not as forward with it as the more visual groups)
One reason I asked I am getting to in my reply email to you, so hopefully that will explain why I asked. :)
