Yes, I refuse to be downbeat when there is so much to celebrate in the world, but I find the recent upsurge of nationalistic, mindless hatred of 'other' disturbing. Back in the dark ages, when I was at school, I rather fell for Moliere's idea of making people see their faults by making them laugh at them. I guess I should put him near the top of my list of inspirational people :D
