J.P. Robinson The ability to teach lessons by the characters/stories we create. I think the power of words can never be emphasized. By God's literal words, the world came into existence. While we aren't creating physical worlds, we can take one that's in our mind and share it with someone else.

Ande Edwards J.P. excellent point. That is such a rewarding part of it, the idea that you can use your characters to generate discussion or teach lessons. In The Prophet, I wanted all my characters to have very real flaws and struggles. I wanted to shatter the idea that believers are somehow immune from struggles and very real flaws.
