I "working" on a "hopeful" book that could possibly turn into more than one novel.
What I mean by "Your 'people'; "characters" talk to you
is that the characters in this hopeful novel like to do a ?conservation? in my head and to whom they are talking to or how the scene will play out with the characters that I am trying to develop.
When I read my authors that I love in the genre I can actually see/hear what the author has written in the novel that I am currently reading.
So I guess what I meant by asking you if "your characters/people" talk to you to help you develop the story that you are writing can you see or have your characters help you develop the direction the novel will go?
No, I have checked in with my counselor regarding the way I am writing that as far as they can tell I am as normal as a person can be.
I have even let them read little quips of the story and they seem to think that the story has promise.
Soooooooooo, I was wondering if your "characters/people' 'talk' help you write your novels?
I want to become a good author that will be published and make other people happy and be successful even be it a small or greater success.
I hope I don't sound stupid in asking, I feel like I am running in a circle trying to describe how this 'book' is being written for me.

You don't sound stupid at all Doris. Many of the authors I know say their characters talk to them, so you're not alone. I probably tend more to listen to their conversations in my head when I am writing. I hope that makes sense. And good luck with you're book.
