This is how I read it as well. I felt it was the Reverend's second chance, as it was. To even examine himself, after he knew he was dead on earth, yet wanting to keep trying to seek grace. I agree on your take on this.
I didn't think the reverend went into Lincoln. I thought it was just Bevins and Vollm.
Great explanation of the reverend- i still don’t understand the diamond palace though. Is that where everyone goes, or is that particular to him?
