Jane Fantastic! I love Flavia. Will we see her solve mysteries in her new boarding school??

Elizabeth (Miss Eliza) Just pre-ordered the short story!

message 3: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Jenkins Was lucky enough to read a digital ARC of "Chimney Sweepers" and LOVED it. Thrilled to hear about e-book short story.

Alan Bradley Thanks, Elizabeth and Lauren. Just seven more sleeps...

Tristian Grenfell Hi Alan, just wanted to say I love your books and have told a few friends and they love them too! It's been so long since I have found such a great series and look forward to future writings:)

Tria Any news on when #7 will be in audiobook? I'm loving Sophie Aldred's readings of the series.

message 7: by Alan (new)

Alan Bradley No news as yet, Tria. The US version of the audiobook is always simultaneous with the hardcover, but such is not the case in the UK - partly because they're produced by different companies.
Glad to hear you're enjoying Sophie Aldred's readings. There are also readings available by Emilia Fox.

Tria Yes; I have Emilia's reading of the first in the series, but I prefer Sophie's, to be frank - I suspect largely because she sounds closer to Flavia's age when reading without making her more childlike than need be. Not that Emilia's are bad, simply different.

I've seen a similar issue with other series too, so far as Audible are concerned - Seanan McGuire's October Daye books, for example, where the last book came out in paperback and on Audible US simultaneously last September but, despite having the same publisher and even the same recording, is still not available on Audible UK nearly eight months later, nor even up for pre-order yet. Neither the author nor the narrator are aware of any reason for such a long delay, and Audible UK don't seem to be either.

I do hope this won't be the case with "Chimney Sweepers" - I find audiobooks far easier to handle than paper ones nowadays, especially hardbacks, because my fingers tend to dislocate when I turn pages. I know it's not your say though, so don't worry that I might bug you about it ;) though I may well bug Audible...

Thanks for the quick reply. :)

Alan Bradley Bug away, Tria!

Sandy Is this the 'Copper' something or other that is now out on E book only???? Is that why it's referred to as Flavia 6.5?We want to listen to it be read by Jane Erstwhile (?) She is wonderful and we want more! I personally do not read/listen to/use E books AT ALL. AND DON'T want to! But I really really want to hear more of Flavia's adventures! She is such a hoot! So many of us love her!
