I'm over halfway through your book and found your descriptions so realistic that I just had to ask. Thank you for answering my question so thoroughly. The childhood you had sounds wonderful and it's no wonder you have such a reverence for nature. Just beautiful!

That area of Maine is nearly inaccessibly, with less than one person per hundred square miles living in it, so I had to rely on a lot of research. I've been through Maine a number of times, so I had a bit of a grasp on the topography and much of the forestation, but not enough to feel I could write it off the cuff.
