Diana So you don't do any preparation at all? Like knowing the characters before you start? Figuring out the basic plot line? Anything at all? You just "plop" yourself in a chair and right from the seat of your pants? When people ask you for advice for aspiring writers, that is what they are asking for...Not a sarcastic response, "sit and write." That they know, what they don't know is how to get started...Sit there staring at the screen and figure it out as you go may work for you after FIFTY books, but what about those of us who haven't gotten past the first paragraph because we don't have any idea where to go from there..."Plop yourself in the chair and write" my eye...There's more to it than that or you wouldn't be a New York Times bestseller...

Christina Dodd Diana, I'd suggest you go read the articles I quoted in my answer.

Diana I read them...I have a paragraph plot idea and nothing else. HAHA What you read was frustration pure and simple. Sorry if I sounded angry...
