A comic book named "Samurai Detective" would work. It's pretty easy to picture Culverson surviving in a post-apocalyptic world.
Glad to know Culverson solves another case. Halfway through Countdown City and loving it, as I did The Last Policeman. Hopeful I'll be receiving World of Trouble for Christmas, if not it'll be the first thing I buy for myself post-holiday.
Maybe some kind of kickstarter campaign would convince you to finish the novella about Culverson, the kids and the samurai sword back in Concord before the fall?
