Just to reiterate who we are: We welcome queer women/fem-identified, non-binary people of all ages, genders, ethnicities, religious backgrounds, and socio-economic classes. We also welcome the presence of their families, friends, and community members who get it. We wish to specifically extend a welcoming invite to Indigenous and Black women, disabled women, fat women, trans men and women, bisexual women, non-binary peeps, people of colour, and asexual women. [close] We're a new group building a reliable bookshelf-database of Crime Fiction, Indie Fiction, Science Fiction, Erotica, Poetry, and all other books that MENTION and REVEL in cursing, sex, criminal activities of all kinds, violence, dubious sexual consent, and other adult themes that go with the theme of the book we're reading without ZERO warnings. The term "trigger" is a bad word in this group. After all, we're fucking ADULTS. We're inspired by authors like Charles Bukowski and Donald Goines who lived their pain through their very real uncensored works, who would have never had a chance to express themselves alongside others had all this political correct bullshit had of existed in their time. We reserve every author has a right to freedom of speech and expression, under the moniker that every author has a right to tell the story they want to tell and defend their right to tell it even if we DO NOT AGREE WITH IT. We do not pass judgement as long as they are being true to their character. So yes, if you're a Klansman or a Black Panther writing a doctrine of racial purity we MIGHT NOT AGREE WITH IT but we will put it in a special section for those who DO. And if that is too much for adult readers to grasp then they need to see themselves to the Dr. Seuss section. This is a thread for grown folks that aren't outraged every time uncomfortable themes scares them in their little corner of the earth. Join our long term project by sharing your recent reads in our monthly chat. Once a month we update the bookshelf database but recommendations are welcome everyday of the year!

[close] For my fellow aros who struggle with finding good books without any romance or relationship drama in it!! I've noticed there aren't any specifically aromantic groups on here so I hope to get a little group here to promote reading books that either don't have romance or have an explicitly aro character. I would love to turn this into a book club of sorts so we could have a single book with no romance in it that we all read together and discuss it like a normal club! (We could also talk about how great the book is despite the lack of romance) Also a note: I'm very new to this whole group thing so if you want to give me some ideas and point out any mistakes I'm making, please do so! I really could use the feedback, and I'm going to try to promote this group like crazy!!
