Norah Lofts, The Brittle Glass, 1942 One of our favorite authors is the wonderful Norah Lofts and many of her books are, to our great delight, being reprinted. NL wrote many novels, mostly historical, mostly with rural settings, all wonderfully crafted and intelligently and emotionally engaging. She also wrote memorable novelised histories of Anne Boleyn, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Katharine of Aragon, Richard Coeur de Lion and many others, in addition to several non fiction subjects. She also wrote under the pseudonyms Peter Curtis and Juliet Astley.

[close] We will be reading and discussing Shakespeare's plays. We will also read and discuss non-fiction books relating to Shakespeare and fiction books that have Shakespeare as a character. We will be reading two books at a time with new books picked by me every two months. Eventually, if the group gets bigger, books will be picked by vote within the group. We may, in the future, have Google Hangouts for each month's books. I will be looking for co-moderators for this group. For each book I'll try to find some interesting discussion questions.
