[close] A sharing site for English Language Arts teachers from across Alberta hosted by the Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium and regional literacy leaders. The virtual bookshelves in this group highlight recommended titles for Gr 10-12 shared reading, book club and novel study collections. We invite all members to become active contributors to this group and continue to add books as new engaging titles are discovered. In the book description about why we should "read" this book, please add helpful details: - any cautions for the book - if it should be limited to a particular grade level - if you would use it as part of a thematic set - tasks that naturally extend from the theme of the book - tips for how you use this book with your students While we value great YA Lit and independent reading, this is not intended to be a general list of popular titles that we might recommend to our school libraries or suggest a student read on their own. Also, www.teachingbooks.net has generated lists of recommended novels K-12 and identified supporting resources (audiobook excerpts, links to author pages, sample lesson plans, etc.) for each of the titles on their lists. You are welcome to post direct links to their annotated titles in your description if you feel it would be helpful.
