[close] Ce groupe a été créé pour lancer un défi à des élèves du secondaire : résoudre un problème réel à travers la littérature. Leur mission est de rechercher, analyser et recommander des œuvres (romans, pièces de théâtre, bandes dessinées, histoires courtes) qui ne véhiculent pas de propos racistes et dont les auteurs évitent l’appropriation culturelle. Les élèves devront développer leur esprit critique, apprendre à repérer les biais dans les récits, et réfléchir à la responsabilité des créateurs dans la représentation des cultures et des identités. Ce groupe est un espace de discussion, de partage et de réflexion sur la diversité, l’éthique et l’impact social de la littérature. Objectifs du groupe : • Encourager une lecture consciente et engagée • Développer des compétences de recherche et d’analyse littéraire • Promouvoir des œuvres inclusives et respectueuses • Créer une bibliothèque collaborative de lectures responsables

[close] Toronto Book Club is a free to attend monthly gathering. We focus on books that relate to the City of Toronto in that the entire book (or a portion of it) is set in Toronto, or the author has lived (or currently lives) in Toronto. Why attend: (1) connect with others who love reading books, who are interested in Toronto’s past and its future, and who are happy to meet others who share these shared interests; and (2) have a nice cup of tea and/or coffee, and/or a snack while listening to insightful conversations about the book we're focusing on at that gathering (note: the book club gatherings are free to attend, but the tea, coffee, snacks are for you to cover so please bring cash).

[close] A place for proud Ontarians to hang out, make new friends and share a laugh. We talk about books, day-to-day life and what's going on in our beautiful province. Profiles set to private won't be considered. Because this group is for individuals who reside in Ontario, your profile must display your location. Thank you.
