[close] Find us on www.reddit.com/r/RadicalChristianity /r/radicalChristianity has emerged as a community of people discussing the intersection of philosophy, theology, critical theory, and revolutionary politics. We are interested in re-investing Christianity with its transgressive elements, and as such we are openly against oppressive discourses (sexism, racism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia). Many of us find our beliefs marked by a certain desire for disassociation with and transgression against conventional Christian institutions and culture. We support divergent forms of thinking. Together we are a group consisting of materialists, idealists, realists, anti-realists, pragmatists, mystics, theists, atheists, occultists, heretics, socialists, anarchists, communists, Marxists, pacifists, insurrectionists, and many other identities burdened with either an inordinate number of prefixes or else with none at all. Not all of us are politically "progressive". Some of us are of a slightly more orthodox and conservative bent, too -- interested in what it truly means to enact the transformative power of the cross in our daily lives. With such a broad definition of "radicality" and "Christianity", we find that group discussion is of paramount importance. Viewpoints that may initially seem odd or shocking are often filled with critical insights and viable possibilities of being that a cursory dismissal would otherwise overlook.

[close] Welcome to a discussion of nonduality in topics including inquiry, enlightenment, Truth, ultimate reality, meditation, Buddhism, Advaita Vedanta, mysticism, enneagram, featuring such people as Byron Katie, Ramana, Gangaji, Jan Frazier, Joan Tollifson, Rupert Spira, Nisargadatta, and more - what books have been important to you? - Jon Nonduality, also known as non-dualism or Advaita, is a philosophical and spiritual concept that refers to the idea that there is no fundamental separation or duality between things that are conventionally perceived as distinct and separate. This includes the separation between the self and the world, between subject and object, and between mind and matter. In nondual philosophy, reality is seen as a unified whole in which all apparent differences and distinctions are ultimately illusory. This means that everything in the universe is ultimately interconnected and interdependent, and that the boundaries between things are fluid and constantly changing. The concept of nonduality is found in many different philosophical and spiritual traditions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, and some forms of mystical Christianity and Sufism. Nondual teachings are often associated with meditation and contemplative practices that are aimed at helping individuals to directly experience the unity of all things and to transcend the limitations of dualistic thinking. In recent years, nonduality has become a topic of interest in fields such as neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy, as researchers seek to understand the nature of consciousness and the relationship between the mind and the brain from a nondual perspective. - ChatGPT
