[close] A place to discuss all the unique aspects of Deaf culture as highlighted in the thriller Silent Fear (A novel inspired by true crimes) by Lance & James Morcan. This group can also be an intersection of sorts where Deaf and hearing people can engage and learn from each other.

[close] Welcome to The Minority Club! Our goal is to bring together a community of individuals who are passionate about exploring and discussing some of the most challenging, controversial and thought-provoking ideas and worldviews. What unites our members is our obsession for intellectual rigour, honesty and humility. Every day we commit to read at least two chapters of a book we choose from a wide range of fields including philosophy, logic, mathematics, physics, and computer science. These books are often dense, technical, and require a high level of concentration and critical thinking to fully comprehend. However, we believe that the effort is worth it, as these books offer insights and perspectives that can help us to better understand ourselves and the world we happen to inhabit. During our meetings, we delve deep into the major topics and ideas presented in the book, using a combination of open debate and transparent analysis to digest the material trying to be as clear and critical as possible in order to grasp the foundations. We encourage all of our members to actively participate in these discussions, and we welcome a diversity of views and perspectives.

[close] This space is designed for us, as a cohort, to share and exchange book suggestions that inspire our thinking as educators and graduate students. The idea is simple: any member can recommend a book—whether it’s related to education theory, policy, leadership, pedagogy, or even broader works that help us reflect on learning, equity, and social change. By gathering our recommendations in one place, we create a shared library of ideas that can spark conversations, deepen our perspectives, and support both our academic journey and our professional practice. Everyone is encouraged to contribute titles, short reflections, or even discussion questions to help the group engage meaningfully with each suggestion. Together, we can turn reading into a collaborative experience and continue building a community of thoughtful, curious educators.
