[close] I'd like some advice on a good summer read but I'm quite specific. I'm from Corsica and live in North London for 5 years. I'm going back to Corsica for a month or two and would like to read books following those three categories. 1 - Something quite like Fitzgerald's Tender is the night - Pre-WW2 foreigners spending time in elegant and luxurious surroundings by the sea. 1 - Something quite like Brideshead Revisited. I'm too hot in Corsica and misses the UK. Books set during summer spent in Victorian houses, in parks and ponds more than by the sea, in which everyone dresses in white and enjoys drinking before dinner. 3 - Something quite like Rum Diary. A much warmer summer with heavy drinking. The characters are so hot they drink to forget and go swimming. You can feel inspired to do the same.

[close] This reading group will focus on natural history. We will immerse ourselves within the realm of organisms as we explore the biodiversity of the planet. Discover and discuss animal species ranging from vertebrates such as birds and mammals to soft-bodied organisms such as mollusks, worms and jellies. We will journey throughout the world's biomes via ecological and evolutionary perspectives, the microscopic connections and the life histories of different species. Hopefully we will gain a better understanding of the numerous species we share the planet with. Environmental aspects and conservation measures are also important topics of interest in this group. [close] From the mermaid trilogy by Sarah Porter, here both mermaids and mermans alike join tribes and take on dangerous adventures under the sea.......When your family abuses you, you have the option to turn into a mermaid and escape to the ocean. Once such option was only to be used by girls only but this tribe of mermaids is determined that boys with the sign of a Metazaka can be turned as well! (This is an RP group but we also provide chats to discuss about the trilogy and books in general.)
