104546 I was very disappointed reading this book after seeing the tv series. The details she provides on life in prison, the rituals, the jobs, the treatment of prisoners, is really fascinating and a view on a minimum security prison I'd never seen before. I found her to be a bit pompous, going out of her way to explain that while most prisoners kept to their ethnic "tribes," she was friends with everyone, other prisoners came to her for help with their homework or legal work, etc. I felt she went overboard in trying to portray herself as non-racist, and as someone who didn't feel above everyone she was incarcerated with. Some of her biggest struggles involved juggling all of her friends and family who wanted to come and visit her, getting two subscriptions to the same magazine etc. Lacking in depth, insight and wisdom this should have stayed in her personal journal.

104546 Lol no Ebo this isn't Patterson and not fair to compare....I like this far. I didn't no that much can be left behind at a crime scene that's crazy. I feel very sorry for rhymes having all that knowledge and can't do nutn but lay in the bed...I can't imagine the torture that is being confined in ur own body completely helpless and dependent upon other to feed u or sumtn as simple as scratchn ur nose.

104546 Great great book!! I loved all of patterson books thus far. I really enjoyed the book Jack and Jill. The book kept you in suspense the whole time you were reading it. I think this is one of James Patterson's greatest books that he has written so far. What is so compelling about this story is that Patterson gets you into the mind of Jack and Jill and well as the child killer. You feel all of their intense emotions and motivations for killing. So, as the reader, you know the killer's next victim as well as knowing what Alex Cross is doing to get the killer. Patterson has you in the mind of the cat as well as the mouse! I love it!

104546 Too much unnecessary hype for this book. I'm glad I got from library bc I would've returned for my money. Poorly written. I keep wondering where the editor was and if it was a guy bc if so it explains how this was even published

104546 I've seen the movie along time ago and now just reading the book. The author is very detailed oriented which is not a bad thing but it could have some boundaries as to how much detail. It can can overwhelming to say the least...the 1st cpl of chp had me with rage and sadness and disgust!

The brutality of those drunken rednecks; perhaps the saddest and hardest part to get through with the addition of little Tonys dream of her father running to get her.

Carl lee did what any parent I think would've done. Yes we aren't pose to take justice into our hands but sometimes it's necessary. However I felt as though they got off easy with sudden death it should have Ben slow and grueling.

I like jake he's very real honest and transparent . N I like his mentor to although he drunk all the time functioning alcoholic...

Reading this book has angered and irritated me by the depth of hatred that exists within racism. I was angered that had Carl lee been a white man bent on avenging his dtg suffering, he would never have had to face trial. Much like it is today really no changes in the injustice of justice.

It is not possible to look at our justice system the same way, ESP from the viewpoint of the black community in the south--even today.

104546 Yes, this book is frightening and very suspenseful. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a passion for nail biting thrillers. This is a mystery that keeps you on the edge of your seat. You could practically feel yourself there among the women trapped in Casanova's collection at times, loved all the suspense and drama in this book and I had to fight with myself before I put it down and actually went to sleep. I have to admit, it is very graphic and disgusting at a lot of parts, things people wouldn't even dare show in a movie. can't wait to see what happens next

104546 This book was an easy read. The chapters are very short. It was ok. Not the best very lil excitement to me. I like the conflict amongst the couples but that was it. I thought it would've gave me insight of the rich and famous lives but it didn't. Blah

104546 Book was very catching from the 1st chp. Kept me wanting more. Well written and easy read with short chapters. Kept me guessing. However the ending ruined the whole book for me :-(

104546 I was really disappointed in this book. I had to force myself to finish this book. It was predictable, the character development was poor, and it was very unrealistic. I kept waiting for the book to get exciting or suspenseful or to get attached to one of the characters but it never happened. The whole book was, to me, a lot of filler and the end was anticlimactic.

104546 It is so easy to forget in times of war that life goes on. Some citizens of the world hear about the violence from the radio, see it on TV, and read about it in the newspaper. And yet, do they really grasp what it must be like to actually Live in these war zones? The soldiers of both sides exchange fire in the streets, while the people that call it home go about their business. Parents and grandparents grieve for what is gone, while the children observe and learn - this is life. What atrocities do they witness every single day? "Afghanistan is a country with many children, but no childhoods."

The Kite Runner is a not just an exploration of the horrors of war. It is fundamentally the story of a man that must overcome his fear of the past in order to rescue his future; a story of the strength of family, the sting of regret, and the loss of a generation. For Amir, it is the story of how one choice can change the entire course of life.

104546 This book is a very better written concept of a fifty shades of gray. Lots of similarities rich guy meets girl instant lust at first sight. I like that the girl character has depth about her and isn't a giggly do wut ever ur boyfriend say etc. can't wait to see how it unfolds

104546 Ok here goes nutn. I like death aka grim reaper . I think it's hilarious and very descriptive. The book to me is very slow and not that entertaining thus far. Chp 39 by the way. I keep waiting for the good part to come and I haven't reached it thus far. I do like that you really get to know the characters tho. I actually like the step mama she is funny and mean. I was confused who the book thief was at 1st. I really get annoyed when the writer jumps in to the script with his comments it's really weird and sometimes is a spoiler. But I'll keep on pressing on till I get to the good part lol

104546 I'm sure the movie will be 10x better than the book considering they don't go chap to chap and add to it to give it more of an appeal.

104546 I soooooo think mr chips is faking everybody out with that alter ego of mr Murphy. I actually thought he was goons get off in court. I wonder if that was apart of his plan I I'm on 72. I plan on finishing tonite

104546 I agree with ebony about Jessie she seemed to well put together to fall so quickly for a colleague. I don't know quite wut her angle is yet. Or could it be she lost in the sauce or just falling n love lol. But when ur big mama tell u she has a funny feeling bout someone listen sum times they see wut u don't see....I think Maggie is with some other ppl too. At first I thought it was those country cops but I don't know. There is something that is missing. N wut Eva happen to those agents that went for coffee break when kids got stolen.

And how did mr chips pull cross into this. How did he know about him. I get he wants to b challenge and he very intelligent but that seems like a lot of work to no who will get to be assigned to which case, unless he has someone on the inside? Idk just speculation
