I agree it's an interesting look at the Falkland Islands themselves and what it's like to live in a confined space where everyone knows your business.

Books like this help inform the public about rare conditions. I read this one a while back. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I enjoyed this book very much. Gabby overcame so much adversity to become successful, with her mother struggling financially and her own varied career (partly as a phone sex worker). She tells a very good story. 😊My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I agree that the personal details about McNamara and her family were interesting and added a lighter side to the book.
I admire McNamara's dedication to uncovering the identify of the Golden State Killer. She was relentless with her computer search for information and clues and it's sad that she wasn't able to complete her manuscript before she died. This book was put together from her notes and writings, and I think it's very well done. 4 stars

I love the recurring characters in this series and Mma Ramotswe's philosophy.....where she thinks everyone has some good in them (or is redeemable). 🙂

I read this book a little while back. These slaves, brought over against their will, had such a difficult life even after they were freed. My review is here:

I agree that this is an excellent book. The story of the Greek immigrants who came to the U.S - and their lives here - is so interesting. And then Cal's experiences, and genetic heritage, make for a fascinating story. Very well written. This is my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
