Rhys nodded, glancing at Ren as she paused for a moment before speaking. He listened, actually quite intrigued by her description of her power. It sounded cool, and like a lethal weapon if need be. "Wow, that is awesome. It sounds cool. It definitely is useful. It must have been hard to manage in the early stages?" He asked, it comes out like a question as he was curious if it had been or not. His power came more naturally as it was fire and a long time of descendants teaching.

Yes and no. So Blake is right. Please refer to the Katmere Starter Guide Topic: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Your character could pass as a shape-shifter with further detail.
Rhys hummed and thought for a moment, trying to find the best way to describe his powers. He finally found a way to and turned to her. "I have a unique fire. It's blue and instead of being hot, it's cold. It's so cold it burns. It's called ice fire, and kind of a family inheritance. My family is known for their unique fire and powers. What about you?"
Rhys chuckled at her excitement and hummed. "You go first. Ask me anything, I'll answer honestly." He smiled encouragingly and rested against the counter.
Rhys shrugged. "What do you think about 20 questions?" He smiled, wanting to know a little more about her. He leaned on the counter, glancing at her. He wondered a few things, but didn't want to ask them quite yet.
((You're fine, lmao.))Rhys chuckled and layered cheese over the meat mix and layered another row of noodles afterwards. He let her do the next layer of the meat and hummed, calculating the time. "Should be about 15 minutes if we turn up the heat in the oven and watch it closely." He suggested, smiling softly.
Aston flushed, glancing away at the wink and suggestion. He took a bite of his soup, trying not to think of the last time they were together at his cottage. He went a deep red and watched him set up the romance, smiling slightly at the gentle type. He snuggled close to Masami, warming at Masami's touch and the blanket.
Aston came in with his bowl and bread balanced on the sides, smiling at Masami's consideration. He pecked Masami's cheek in turn for his affection. "No need, I'm happy to be here. But try not to get too drunk anymore, please?" He sat down and scooted next to Masami, resting against him. He warmed slightly before turning to him. "I don't know what to watch," he admitted.
Aston slowly took a bite of the soup and deemed it done, turning down the stove. He got down bowls for them both and set up a plate for Masami with some bread. He smiled and nodded. "Sure. Take your food first, so you can sober up." He waited for his lover, eyes on his.
Aston flushed and wrapped his arms around his neck, kissing back just as passionately. He let him linger, tilting his head slightly. He gazed back at him with matching loving eyes, then closed his eyes and chuckled at the kisses all over his face. He smiled slightly, his cheeks a little pink. He heard the ding of the oven and reluctantly pulled away, taking out the bread and stirring the soup.
Aston brushed his thumb over Masami's cheek, relaxing as he shifted closer to him. He blinked when he spoke again, his eyes meeting Masami's. His fingers twitched at the caress to the back of his hand, his cheeks flushing at his words. He smiled and stepped closer, trailing hair other hand in Masami's hair. "Masami, I'm ready." He said, eyes flicking to his. "I love you. And I want to share a life with you." He flushed, eyes not straying from Masami's.
Aston let the food cook and turned to Masami, lifting his chin up. "Are you okay?" He asked, slightly concerned that Masami hadn't said anything and looked like he was in a trance. He ghosted his hand through Masami's hair, the thought of the spell crossing his mind again. They'd figure it out later, but Aston was slowly realizing how much he cared for Masami. How much he loved him. And how much he would hurt if he lost Masami, or vice versa. Since recognizing the mating bond, it only made it worse. More painful. It wasn't a myth, that when you lost your mating bond you would lose your soul. It was true. And he didn't want fate to take away Masami. Or him before his town and hurt Masami. He leaned forward, pecking Masami's lips.
Aston smiled back at Masami, cutting up some of the ingredients. He set the bread aside for now, planning to warm it up. He turned when Masami slid off the counter and spoke, smiling at the affection. He kissed him quickly. "I love you, too, Masami." He hummed and turned back to cooking, adding in the other ingredients to simmer on the stove. He laid the bread on a flat pan, cutting it up and adding a little butter before putting it in the oven for a little bit.
Aston flushed at Masami's bombardment of affection, slowly relaxing into his embrace and kissing him back. He gazed at him when he broke the kiss, watching him go about getting himself a water. He chuckled at his reaction to the fridge light, shaking his head. He went to the cupboard and started grabbing some things to make a hangover soup, one that had dumplings to help soak up the liquids. He found some bakery style bread and got some of that too.
Aston let out a small yelp at Masami holding him tightly, his cheeks going a light pink. He watched Masami for a moment and let him set him down on his feet, his hands coming to rest on Masami's chest. He let him grab his supplies and nodded, walking the door and holding it open for Masami to go first. "We'll get you some water and some food in you before we get around for bed. How does that sound?" He asked, giving him a small smile as he leaned back on the door to keep it open.
Aston flushed and held him tightly, giving a small nod. "Sure. I can stay." He smiled and pecked his lips, tilting his head to let Masami nuzzle his neck. He paused and blinked when Masami spoke of them moving in together. He eyes widened slightly and he met Masami's gaze, slowly softening at the idea. He pecked his lips again and then deepened the kiss. He smiled against his lips and pull back. "We'll talk about it more when you're sober, Masami. How's that sound?" He proposed, tangling his hand back in his hair.
