Dragons of a New Age trilogy and the Dhamon Saga were the ones I was thinking of. They introduce some of the characters, etc, but I don't think they're necessary to understand or enjoy War of Souls.

I've read Huma a long time ago.
Just finished DoSD (again!) and started The Soulforge while waiting for DoHM to arrive. Hadn't read Soulforge yet and while I think it started out a little weak I am liking it now - about 150 pages in.
that's all I read and it made sense. There are a couple books out there that some people are saying bridge the gap, but there are also some that say those books aren't very good. I say just jump into WoS!
Death Gate was of course, awesome! I got the first Darksword book and the first of the Bronze Canticles. I am going to read Mag Force 7: Robot Blues after I am done with what I'm reading now.
I remember seeing the art for DoAT and thinking that it was horrible, so I didn't even want to try reading it. Almost done with A&B. So far it is a little *meh* but I am hoping for a big ending.
Thanks for posting, Steve! Will have to check it out.
I have read The Scorpion and thought it was great!

Decided on starting Amber & Blood (duh!)Can't believe I forgot about it!Just waiting for it to come in.
Okay, what DL book is everyone currently reading? I am about to start a new one when I finish Blood Meridian (Cormac McCarthy) and am trying to decide between Dwarven Nations, Taladas, or Kaz the Minotaur.
Any advice?
Wizards has confirmed that they reached a deal with Weis/Hickman to publish the book in the summer of '09!
The trailer is on Youtube or something. Not very impressive, actually, but I'm going to see it of course!
The Golden Compass only made like $24 million opening weekend. It bombed. Don't go see it.
Looks like January 15, 2008 is the DVD release of the animated movie based on the book Dragons of Autumn Twilight. Anybody planning on getting it!?
I think I will have to.
Who is psyched for this!? I was not that impressed with Dwarven Depths. Highlord Skies was better. But I have high expectations for Hourglass Mage.
Ms. Weiss re-visiting her best character!
