Two thumbs up! It's nice to have something to look forward to.

Whatever you ladies decide on, I'm in. So many options!
Slumps are to be expected, the world situation can be depressing which affects every part of our lives. New ideas and things to look forward to can only help us Keep Calm and Read On. 🙂
I'm also working on a side "non-challenge" that I hope to connect to the Book Pool somehow, more on that later. 😉

I could easily list 10 books for next Book Pool. I vote for extending the retro years to 2000 (25 years ago is a long time!).

I've been checking out my stats since I never explored that before, pretty interesting! It looks like the months where I read the most books were the months I participated in the most challenges. Which makes sense but challenges gave me reading stress. I have to lower my yearly book goal. Or maybe not make one at all in 2026 and see how many I achieve. hmmmm......

If you want to see your reviews listed, go to the My Books page, to your read shelf, and at the top of your list where it says cover/title/author, etc. click on REVIEW and you will see every review you wrote. If you didn't write one, then it says Write a Review.

I try to. I am by no means a writer, but I like to at least say something about a book, even if it's just the letters DNF. If I write a long review with quotes, then you know I really enjoyed the book!
My favorite thing about GR is the reviews. When deciding to follow or friend someone I always go for folks with a high amount of reviews. I also click "like" on reviews I agree with from friends and those I follow.

Do you write reviews on GR for every book you read?
Jackie wrote: " I refer IRL books..."Me too so I get it.
So far Agatha is descriptive and fun. I have been to a tell in Israel (over 40 years ago!) so I can see things in my minds eye.

Jackie, how do you feel about reading online? Because the Internet Archive has a lot of Cadell's books

I finally got
Come, Tell Me How You Live from the library. I requested it awhile ago but it came from a library 30 miles away that is being remodeled, so it took awhile. Starting it tonight for the Book Pool.
After that I am re-reading
Flowers for Algernon which is a big favorite and I love the movie.

Ellen wrote: "I seem to spend a lot of time researching the books I want to read as oppose to actually reading them...."I do the same, resulting a TBR list I will NEVER finish.
😬
Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ wrote: "The bookmarks are pretty!..."Those are new this year, kind of cheesy if you ask me. Click on one and you get confetti, yay, LOL!

I always set a number for the challenge but don't always meet it. This year I got into a slump in June, as usual, but it lasted much longer this year. I can't wait for cold weather, to hunker down and do some cozy reading. Here's my page, I don't think I'll make it.

Where did the summer go? Apparently August was such a blur I missed it completely. They say the older we get the faster time flies and I believe it.
Do you participate in the GR yearly challenge? If so, how's it going? Only 4 months left! Feel free to post a link to your challenge page!

Sorry Carol, cannot recommend. Let me know if you want spoilers.

Not much of a review except to say it was a sad story.
Barb in Maryland wrote: "I am in a bad reading slump, and have been for months...."Oh Barb, me too! It happens every summer but this year seems it started earlier. My GR challenge says I'm 9 books behind schedule.
