BOOKS VS MOVIES (45 new)

143636 I love how you ladies think and I totally agree with you. Asenath, there is nothing worse than seeing the movie and THEN trying to read the book. Sometimes it's fun to see what a filmmaker will do with a book, but it can also be frustrating. I really liked the book Unbroken (please read it if you come across it, so good) but I don't want to see the movie because I liked the book so much....I don't want to wreck my memory of that book.

143636 I'm so glad you are reading that Jami. I have another copy Billy if you want to read it. I think that everyone should read Of Mice and Men.

143636 I like the feel of an actual paper book, but I like how easy it is to get an electronic book instantly. Yes Brandon, I like how you can open your electronic book and it saves your page. One thing that bothers me about electronic books is that its hard to go back and find a part you want to remember.

143636 Let's collect favorite quotes from the books we are reading right now. What is the quote? Why do you like it? What does it mean to you and how does it connect to your life?

143636 I like reading before I go to bed (if I don't fall asleep instantly). I also like reading in the morning on the weekends at my house. I like to wake up before everyone else and read when my house is still quiet. My favorite though is the times I can read in class with you guys- that is a wonderful feeling :)

143636 I'll be honest, for awhile I stopped going to bookstores and ordered all of my books from Amazon or I went to the public library. This school year it dawned on me that I really miss going to a bookstore. I've spent a few Saturday's at Common Good Bookstore in St. Paul this winter. It feels really good to be in there, even if I can't get any books. It's quiet there and they have really comfy chairs and they don't care if you sit and read the books for hours. Any fellow bookstore fans out there? Where do you go? Why do you like it?

143636 We have eight days until our two book reviews are due. What books are you interested reviewing? I have found it really helpful to read the other reviews on Goodreads for the book I am about to review. Looking forward to sharing our reviews!

143636 Jaia, great description of "A long walk to water." Is that what you are reading right now, or are you reading a different book?

143636 Great James! Glad you like the book. It was so nice reading today :)

The research I have read supports this statement Jamil, people who read more tend to make more money. So yes, the more you read the more likely you will cash out on these books in the future :)

143636 Hey! A couple of us are trying out LitPick. Remember that website I showed you guys this week, the one where you review books and get free books? So far I have learned that the digital books are free, but you need to pay for a subscription ($15 a year) to cover the paper books postage fee's.

I should no more in a couple days and I will update what I find out...
