Welcome, Alex! The group has been inactive for a long time, but if you would like to jump-start some topics for dialogue, please do! Also feel free to share more about your book and/or add it to the group bookshelf. ~ Lee Ann

Were you referring to my book, Your Intercession Questions Answered? If so, I think my book The Intercessor Manual would be a great help to you. (You can find all my books and audio resources at Character Building for Families.com, Amazon, and other online book retail sites.)
-- And I would mostly greatly appreciate a review at Amazon and/or Goodreads, on Your Intercession Questions Answered, too, if you wouldn't mind taking the time. Thank you! :-)

Hi friends,Are any of you hearing from the Lord concerning 2016? Why not encourage the rest of us?
I wrote on this subject recently at my Out of the Fire Blog .
Since then, I have heard the Lord speak about "a shelter in the wind." I didn't immediately understand what that meant, but I continued to ask the Lord about it over a few days' time. (I find that the Lord often gives me a phrase without explaining it, and that as I pursue after Him and continue to ask into it, He eventually tells me about it. Because I have had to go after Him for the understanding, usually those words mean a lot more to me than they would if I hadn't put some effort into seeking Him about them.)
"A Shelter in the Wind"
He dropped into my heart that as the wind of the Spirit blows in coming days, at times it is going to be a fierce wind. Because of its fierceness, in our natural thinking, we could mistake what is happening for the work of the enemy. But really, the Spirit of God is the one doing the blowing, for His own purposes, and He will shelter His own people from the fierceness of its blowing. (We'll have to wait to see how that plays out.)
I hope you will take a look at my blog post link. Perhaps you will find encouragement in it. It's going to be a good year in Jesus. :-)

Share Christian nonfiction books on prayer or prophecy which have impacted your life. (You can also tell us about books on this subject which you have written!)
Thank you for these thoughts, ladies. I am encouraged to hear that others feel there is yet hope for turn-around if we will pray.
Thank you, Ariela. This must have been quite a traumatic vision, especially as you were a young child at the time.I believe there are some things which cannot be held back forever from happening, but, as you said, if we pray for repentance to take place, and cry out for mercy, God will hear. It seems we are still in a time when mercy is still God's plan.
There is coming a day when judgment will be poured out -- that Great Tribulation period of Revelation. I believe that as long as the Church is still here on earth we have the mandate to pray turnaround into the hearts of people and nations, if He has not said, "Don't pray for mercy anymore." There comes a night season when no man can work (John 9:4).
In a way, it's encouraging to know I am not alone in not hearing a lot of specifics. Sometimes I think we feel a pressure from others to be hearing from God -- but if He isn't speaking, He just isn't speaking, and we can rest in that being OK.I will say that I am watching to see what is going on with Donald Trump's popularity. Even some Christian leaders are promoting him. In the natural, his rise to prominence strikes me as very odd. So, I am watching and inquiring of the Lord as to what His purpose is in this.
It could be that He will use Mr. Trump to bring some issues to the forefront that nobody else will talk about. It could be that He will use him to test the hearts and discernment of God's people. It's possible that He will turn Mr. Trump's heart to Himself. God has used odd people and strange circumstances for His own purposes many times in the past. So, I'm intrigued by where this might go. -- And, I keep inquiring of Him.
For me personally, it might be because I have had other concerns in the last few weeks to pray for. My focus has not been on the nation quite as much at this time for that reason. The other element involved is that we all hear/prophesy in part. He doesn't tell everything to any of us. Sometimes He just wants us to trust in the midst of not knowing the future.
I continue to pray for mercy for the nation because of the righteous ones who still live here. I pray for a national repentance to sweep through, and for an awakening to still come. My sense is that the time for judgment is not yet, if we will pray for it to be held off.I, too, have been praying for an outcry against Planned Parenthood to arise and increase -- an outcry that will not be silenced until change comes.
I have not been hearing God speak a great deal, other than to keep focused on Him and not buy into the fear so many people are in.
I have been praying for God's counsel on where we are on His timeline and how to pray for America. What is His vantage point? I have also been discussing this topic with several intercessors in my acquaintance. What do you feel the Lord is saying, and how do you feel He is instructing you to pray for America?

I think as far as the different types of prayer, that we don't need to worry about which one we should be doing at which moment, by trying to categorize them. What I would personally do is bring the need before the Lord and ask Him how to pray. I would ask Him to lead me. (That would be part of my listening mode.) I would probably then pray a lot in tongues, if He did not immediately give me guidance, and expect that He would lead me into worship, or warfare, declaring, petitioning, or whatever. For myself, I have generally found that He makes whatever kind of prayer is needed well up from within and pour out.
As to the unfaithful husband and how to pray: I knew a woman who hung on to a promise she had that she and her husband would be one day reunited. He went through several girlfriends. She waited over ten years, and is back with him today. However, that doesn't always happen, and free will is a factor. God can put the pressure on through our prayers, so that someone's heart softens and changes. He is good at that. But they don't always change. I think this is where listening for what the Lord might be saying to shift us, comes in. We don't always immediately want to listen when He is prompting us with painful nudges. But your friend whose husband has now remarried must look at that as a forever-closed door now, and let God do something new and better for her. I am so sorry it turned out that way for her. Perhaps the best thing is to pray for healing for her.
I am getting near the end of writing my book, Your Intercession Questions Answered, and I want to make sure I don't leave out anything important. If you were to buy such a book, what questions would you like to see addressed in it? Feel free to give me a whole list, if you'd like. :-)
