In regards to David C, though I am not aware that we have proof of his intentions re: scooping up free copies of books to sell on his website), I am going to ban this user until he can offer an acceptable explanation. I seem unable to do this on my phone, however so I'll have to wait until I get home. In the meantime, I suggest no one give your book away to this user for the time being. Also I would advise everyone who did to check that site above.
Thanks everyone.

Perhaps we can learn how to end terrorism and begin the war against global warming that threatens all life on Earth... Jennifer wrote: "I have to ask this but, are there any rejections on certain kinds of books? My books are on a little more on the, naughty side of things."Nope. As long as it's noted as such in your book's description. As long as people know what they're getting into, I don't see any issue.
okay, that settles is. Everyone go and add your book as a write in, and we'll see how it all works out.
Maybe in that case, authors who "win" the book to read that month could lower the price of the book to 99 cents for a week. Something to talk about.
Okay everyone. I have created an entirely new group for this book club and created a poll. Voting starts today and ends on the 10th. You can add in a write in vote if you would like. The new rules is now you ACTUALLY HAVE TO NOMINATE YOUR OWN BOOK, and also provide FREE copies to everyone in the club. (For this reason, it's not very reasonable to nominate someone else's book unless you have the go ahead from the author to give away copies.)
If in the future we want to alter the rule that we purchase the book from the author -- I think this would be a very cool idea. Discuss.

Assaph wrote: It's perfect! This way we don't have to think what to write - there's no more space!"
LOL.
Yes, I like #Authors4Readers. Let's go with that one.
Assaph wrote: "BTW, should we also have a unique #hashtag?"OOOOH. I like it. is #authorslookingdirectlyforreaders too long? Probably.
A.C. wrote: "I, too, like this idea! I would like to request my book be added to the bookshelf.Flower Child, #1
Hi, A.C. I added your book to the bookshelf.
David wrote: "i wasnt aware this was a christian book discussion group just a group discussing books of all genres that everyone has different tastes i think is the important issue if you dont like a book i dont..."This is NOT a Christian book discussion group.

It's not an anti-Christian group, necessarily either, but religious preference doesn't come into it one iota.
That said, Phil, you are welcome to suggest any book you'd like. It sounds interesting, but since you don't mention a title I'm not sure what it might be.
Re: small press. Here's my thought. Since the goal is to read and support small, upcoming, unestablished writers, as long as choosing books published by small press companies fulfills that goal then I think that sounds fine. What do you all think?
Hi everyone. I just dawned on me. This is a BOOK CLUB is it not? And yet, we're not reading any books (at least not collectively as a group), and discussing it like a normal book group.Let's rectify this once and for all.
Here's the rules:
1. There are no rules (except your recommendation must be by an indy self-published author.)
2. There is no longer a second rule.
3. Come up with some rule for tallying votes so we can decide which book we're going to read. (I don't have any brilliant plans for this at the moment.)
4. Placeholder. There is no rule 4. (Someone come up with this as well -- but only if needed.)

Melody's eyes met with the Bardo -- and she knew she would never be the same again.Melody Jackson v. the Woman in White
Although not updated on Goodreads yet, this is a new cleaned up version of the book with a snazzy new cover to boot.
I can provide just about any format you need, and would love some more honest reviews before the sequel shortly comes out...
It all began with a blood-curdling scream in the middle of the night. This spurs on an investigation by Melody Jackson and her family which leads all over Portland. Enlisting the help of Lonnie's friends, Chazz and Malika, the group looks to resolve the mystery of not only the woman in white, but of two mysterious men in a van, and the dreaded Bardo!
