152306 I'll second Richard K. Morgan, Gunslinger, Emperor's Blade, and Earhsea.
Jul 12, 2015 12:45PM

152306 Spin is really not SF, but more about the lives of the characters in the book, and it uses SF as just a backdrop and reason for the characters to stay connected throughout their live, which I really enjoyed.
Jul 12, 2015 12:43PM

152306 I'll second Nexus.
Jul 09, 2015 03:49PM

152306 I'll nominate Spin.
Jul 09, 2015 03:46PM

152306 I'll second Kress since I do have the book on my TBR.

I would second Red Seas Under Red Skies except that the rule seemed to be only the first boo..."

Then the third book the following fantasy month in September would seem be right in order.

152306 I like to nominate Chronicles of the Black Company or Lord Foul's Bane, which influenced Erikson. Or The Dragonbone Chair, which influenced Christopher Paolini and George R.R. Martin.

152306 I'll second both Earthsea and Rhapsody. I love Soldier and Son trilogy, but feel like people might not like or enjoy the book as in the past other people have said that it is too slow plus the main character and magic system people might not connect with.
Apr 13, 2015 09:12AM

152306 I would like to change my nomination to Range of Ghosts.
Apr 12, 2015 09:37PM

152306 I'll second The Last Stormlord and nominate The Innocent Mage.
Mar 14, 2015 09:40AM

152306 I am going to nominate Erikson's newest book and his 1st SF novel, Witful Child. Maybe next month could be double the Erikson fun?
Mar 12, 2015 02:33PM

152306 How many books other than Malazan is/are going to be read? 1 or 2?
Mar 12, 2015 10:49AM

152306 I'll second Wind Up girl since its usually not mention at all when introducing fantasy readers to science fiction.
Feb 15, 2015 05:47PM

152306 I don't think I be read any of the books being voted on since they are either
read a lot on Goodreads and especially read a lot and popular on Booktube, or I just don't like Tad Williams.

I think an author more popular should be read first.
Feb 15, 2015 05:41PM

152306 I will also second Tailsman as it is one of my favorite and Green Rider since I had the book on my TBR for ages.
Feb 05, 2015 04:03PM

152306 I personally would like to Dee a science fiction book win in March for 2 reasons, this month and Malazan are both fantasy, more importantly I would like to see .ore people read science fiction because science fiction is declining, and fantasy especially Epic Fantasy is so popular these days.

I suggest Tigana since it seems like his most popular work.

I will nominate Chronicles Of The Black Company or if that is too big, we can just read the 1st book, The Black Company. Black Company was a big influence for Erickson in creating Malazan, he even dedicated book 7 to Cook.

I'll second Foreigner, which is a series that never gets read, win or discuss at all.

152306 Hated Pawn of Prophecy, as different of a book as you get from Malazan. Everything Eddings wrote was a rip off of Tolkien. Also he needed a whole book just to introduce the plot, world, characters, and daily life. Really come on.
Jan 12, 2015 04:31PM

152306 I'll nominate The Baker's Boy by J.V. Jones as its been on my TBR for a while, and Kaitlin enjoyed reading A Cavern of Black Ice, but some people might be turned off since the trilogy was published in the 90s and ititsut of print.
Jan 11, 2015 05:41PM

152306 I would go for that, but I have already read the series by myself and with the Malazan group and Tor couple of years ago.
