I am currently reading several books but one that might be of interest to people in this group is True Sex: The Lives of Trans Men at the Turn of the Twentieth Century It has been slow going as it quite academic but very interesting none the less.
I just finished My Favorite Thing is Monsters by Emil Ferris. I highly recommend it; if you are a comics fan.

What you are reading looks very interesting. I added it to my (huge) list.
Hello, It's been awhile since I have posted in here. I am currently reading Drag Queen (Robert Rodi Essentials by Robert Rodi. It's a pretty fast read and very entertaining.
Welcome Megan! I have only read Orlando by Virginia Woolf. I don't remember anything about the movie at all, except that I saw it. I did like the book though. I think I need to read it again though to fully comprehend it and catch all its nuances.
I have recently added Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit to my reading list. Not sure why I have never read any Jeanette Winterson. Hopefully that will be remedied soon. Take care and once again, welcome!
Welcome A and hello! I am currently reading Gender Failure by Rae Spoon and Ivan Coyote. I am about half way through it. It is a lot of short anecdotes about their personal experiences on the gender spectrum and in the queer community and while not by persons of color, it is pretty interesting and enjoyable so far, and is turning out to be a fairly quick read, for me anyway. I know you said you were reading strictly from the authors of color perspective this year so maybe keep it in mind for later. Take Care and once again welcome to the group!
I'm reading Chicago Whispers: A History Of LGBT Chicago Before Stonewall. It is actually pretty fascinating so far. I am also reading a biography of Jackson Pollock called Jackson Pollock: An American Saga which is also very good so far, and Nelson Algren's The Man with the Golden Arm.
Hi Hartley welcome to the group! You might like Foxfire Confessions of a Girl Gang by Joyce Carol Oates. It is not LGBT exactly but has that vibe and is one of my favorites. For a non-fiction history read you might enjoy Boots of Leather, Slippers of Gold: The history of a Lesbian Community. I read this Pre-GR days and found it to be excellent. For a fictionalized powerful history lesson you might like Stone Butch Blues by Les Feinberg. It is very depressing (and maddening) in parts but I remember really liking it. That reminds me that I should probably re-read all of those in the near future.
Thanks for posting that Nancy. Pretty great imagery and cool music as well. I should check out this show.

I'm number 9 out of 14..."
I have this on my TBR list and I have the film on my to watch list. I had heard that the film was disappointing. I'm not sure when I will get to either but people's thoughts on both are interesting to read.
Thanks Kernos. Good to know. The books sounded interesting and seem to be well loved. I will have to check out the ones you mentioned.
I'm late to this thread and I had never heard of her before but her work sounds interesting so I will have to check it out.

Oh well….if only I could figure out how to read faster! LOL
Thanks for sharing that Greg! I enjoyed that. You have some very interesting books on that list. I will have to go back and look at some of them in detail and add them to my huge list.
