Ch 1-5. Oh, this is so morbid. I'm totally overwhelmed with the inheritance topic.Isn't it weird, all of the setting?

These are insane. I'm totally late with my updates but this is phenomenal!

Done. The boat and Andy's rec are on the 4th hunt pg.
Kim wrote: "Yea I think we are good to use the skips for boat on cover, rhyming title and Andy’s rec. can someone double check me before posting to Alaina? I don’t trust looking on the app lol"Andy's rec and boat are the 2 left on the SS
I'll move them now to the next page
Kim wrote: "Yea I think we are good to use the skips for boat on cover, rhyming title and Andy’s rec. can someone double check me before posting to Alaina? I don’t trust looking on the app lol"I just posted the review for rhyming title. We need only 2 skips
Celia wrote: "Have we finished everything except mine? If so, I say we use a skip and take two days to read for round 4."Per SS we have only

and

unfinished yet. The rest are posted, so, I second that.

If I'm not mistaken then whenever we have 3 tasks left at any point we can just appoint them as skips and go to the next page where we all will be free to go about finishing the hunt however the books fit

November done.
The
robot rhyming tytle I'll review later today
The Golden Enclaves(view spoiler)[ Ch1. Poor El. She's got quite the PTSD. Well, at least she's got mum aroind. (hide spoiler)](view spoiler)[ Ch2. The burdened soul part's quite a bit worrying. (hide spoiler)](view spoiler)[ Q: But when you commit to the maleficer lifestyle, give up making mana of your own at all and switch to using malia exclusively, that’s when the path really smooths out before you. Serious maleficers don’t have to worry about people getting uneasy round them, or even any outer signs, at least not until they cross the finish line far up ahead and the worn-thin outer façade peels away, years of accumulated psychic pollution exposed all in a rush, and they graduate to their final form, the ancient stringy sorcerers and hideous crones that show up in fairy stories, mashing bones in a mortar and pestle. It’s a puzzle no one’s going to solve: do they look that way because that’s what people think of when they think of evil mage, or have the stories been told because at that stage the maleficers get desperate enough to even go after mundanes, having to work harder and harder and more grotesquely to extract enough malia from hapless victims to keep themselves from falling apart entirely? (c) No, that's an interesting parallel, with drugs. (hide spoiler)](view spoiler)[ Ch8 LOL, please have some team instead of destroying my enclave, thank you.
Q: “Take a few breaths,” Ophelia advised, when I didn’t answer her. “I’m not looking to start a fight in my living room. In my worst-case scenario, you’d destroy my enclave. In the best case, you’d be dead. And I don’t want you dead. Why don’t you sit down? Would you like some tea?” (c) (hide spoiler)](view spoiler)[ Ch 12 Ophelia did quite the number on her kid. Parents need to be especially careful with maleficaria (and not only)
Q: “I don’t know,” she said, a whisper, rubbing her hands up and down her arms, a chill in deep July, when I asked her what had been wrong with Orion, what Ophelia had done to her own child to get an unstoppable mal-killing machine for New York. “I don’t know. Whatever it is, I couldn’t do anything about it.” (c) (hide spoiler)](view spoiler)[ Ch14 So sweet!
Q: But Orion was staring at me like I was a drink of water, so I drew a few deep breaths and forced myself calm. “Lake, I know she’s your mum, but she’s a maleficer,” I said, level and measured. “Whatever’s wrong, it’s her fault. She’s done it to you. And she won’t fix it for you, either.”
“She’s the only one who might be able to,” he said. “If anyone else could have—” He stopped, and I remembered Mum with her hands on his head, sorrowing, after everything she could do. I couldn’t set him right, she’d said. All she’d been able to do was give him hope. Enough hope that he’d taken himself back out of the despair he’d fallen into, let himself believe that he deserved to live after all, no matter what was wrong—wrong with him, the words I hadn’t said, but they were in him already.
“You don’t need fixing,” I said, and tried to mean it. “You’ve spent every minute of your life saving people.”
“No,” he said. “I’ve spent every minute of my life hunting mals. I wanted to—” He looked away, a shine of misery in his eyes. “I wanted to think I was saving people. I wanted to be a hero.”
“Oh, shut it, you absolute block, you are a hero!” I said savagely. “You did save people. You saved bloody all of us!”
“You did that,” he said. (c) (hide spoiler)](view spoiler)[ Ch17
Q: She’d murdered an entire year’s worth of Scholomance students, performed a hideous act of human sacrifice on her own child, and had nearly destroyed us all: obviously the only thing for it was to make her Domina. (c) Nice gal. And not the Gal way. The Last Graduate(view spoiler)[ Ch3 Q:When I cast spells, there are usually copious side manifestations, generally designed to convey to anyone watching that they should probably be fleeing in terror or alternatively dropping to their knees and doing homage. The whole dismemberment happened in roughly the span of half a minute, and there was a lot of futile but violent thrashing involved, along with wailing disembodied shrieks and gusting flares of phosphorescence as the apparition bit went. After it was all over, everything was left neatly lined up in a row, exactly like the supply shop of an alchemist maleficer’s dreams. The remnants of the last victim had also separated themselves tidily into cleaned bones, flesh, and scraps of skin, in line with the bits of mal. The skull was sitting atop the pile of bones with thin trails of smoke coming out of the sockets. And as the finishing touch, the spongy roll that had been the tongue wrapped itself into a square of the fallen canopy, and another strip of canopy tore away and tied a little bow around it before it rolled into the line. (c) LOL. El's so self-deprecating.
And their reactions to all that carnage happening are pure gold:
EL: Q: I wasn’t casting a shadow, which meant I was probably glowing myself. (c)
Chloe: Q: “Oh my God?” Chloe said, a little faintly, sort of like a question, frozen in place. (c)
Orion: Q: “Hey, can you get off?” Orion said, sounding a bit squashed. (c) (hide spoiler)] (view spoiler)[ Paranoiaks the Scholomance way:
Q:
It meant I hadn’t been making everything up. The school really was out to get me, and the mals were, too; I really was as powerful as that implied—her eyes darted over to the still-standing array of grotesque ingredients as that hit—and anyone hanging round me was almost certainly asking to be in the line of fire. (c) (hide spoiler)] (view spoiler)[ Ch 3
Q: To cap it off, Orion didn’t congratulate me exactly, but he said, “I’m glad you and Chloe have become friends,” in an alarmingly hopeful way that was very clearly only one unfortunate literature assignment away from turning into come live with me and be my love, optionally etched onto metal with little hearts around it. (c) (hide spoiler)](view spoiler)[ I bode Orion to be on the spectrum:
Q: That was the scale of things for which he could express desire: friendship, love, humanity. But he didn’t care where in the cafeteria he sat, he didn’t care what shirt he wore, he didn’t care what classes he was in or what books he read. He did his work more or less dutifully, was polite, and preferred to avoid hero-worshippers while feeling guilty about it, and if I said, “Let’s go stand on our heads on the cafeteria mezzanine stairs,” he’d probably shrug and say, “If you want to.” (c) (hide spoiler)](view spoiler)[ Ch6
Q:
“Yeah, aces,” I said. “Even the mals agree I’m poison. Ow! Get off me, you little—!” Precious had just bit my earlobe.(c) Somebody not agrees. (hide spoiler)](view spoiler)[ Ch 7. The pregnancy and periods stuff is quite enlightening. Poor kids. (hide spoiler)] (view spoiler)[ Ch 13. 200 kids doing a simultaneous training? Scholomance must be doing a cha-cha at El and Ori. (hide spoiler)](view spoiler)[ So, did Orion prefer Patience to El?
'Wanting' that thingy dead? (hide spoiler)]["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Oh, yes!
Everyone in here is obnoxious enough to be just endearing.
Ch1.
(view spoiler)[Frankly, Orion IS a bit obnoxious! There are some people who have this overdeveloped nicety.
Q: Not even Orion’s been able to save all of us (c) Is he having PTSD already, BTW? (hide spoiler)]Ch6.
(view spoiler)[Killing that maw-mouth is so bad-ass! (hide spoiler)]Ch9.
(view spoiler)[Q: “You’re the only person Orion’s ever actually hung out with.”
“Right, sorry, I forgot that your kind aren’t allowed to associate with the plebeians.”
“That’s not what I mean!” she said. “He doesn’t hang out with us, either.” (c)
Am I the only one who feels Orion is somewhere on the spectrum? (hide spoiler)]Ch 11.
(view spoiler)[
Q: Lucky for us all, Chloe hadn’t shut off the mana supply. I pointed my hand at the argonet and recited a forty-nine syllable curse that had been used a few thousand years ago to disintegrate the guardian dragon of a sacred temple in Kangra by a group of maleficers who wanted to claim the temple’s supply of a mysterious arcane dust. The dust turned out to be the powdered shed scales of the dragon, which was information that you’d think the priests might have shared more widely in order to prevent just that sort of misguided attempt.
The argonet looked puzzled as its talons started to crumble. I don’t think it understood that it was disintegrating, so it kept trying to get in. Fortunately, my spell picked up steam quicker than the crammed-in argonet could move, so by the time it got its head thrust into the opening in place of its vanished arm, the disintegration was coming up its neck. I was even able to reach up and pluck one fist-sized tooth, gone loose and wobbly, right out of its mouth just before the spell swept up over the rest of the jaw. (c) Nice, huh? (hide spoiler)]Ch 12
(view spoiler)[The cooperations lessons are incredible. Maybe that was the lesson that Scholomance had been trying to impart instead of
the 'everyone for themselves' trope? (hide spoiler)]Ch13.
(view spoiler)[So, her mom does know she would have Orion-shaped trouble in her future, right? Isn't it sad that the letter was THAT short?
Q:
I had absolutely no idea what to do with it, other than possibly knee Orion again even harder and flee. That was really appealing the more I thought about it, but I didn’t get the chance; instead he shoved me to the floor, straight into a half-frozen and half-scalding puddle, and fired off half a dozen targeted blasts over my head to destroy a small pack of gorgers who had evidently survived in the ceiling inside the pocket of safety I’d created, and were now jumping down to have us for a celebratory feast.
Which was exactly the moment when a dozen people came off the landing, just in time to see me on the floor at Orion’s feet, him standing heroically over me, his hands full of glowing smoke and the scorched and smoking corpses of the ...
