I did give my email to one moderator of another group. But I don't know what will come of it, since I already have more people in email (and chat and don't even think about Facebook) than I can keep up with. What I'd really like is a place that is user friendly in a way Goodreads is NOT and we can do a mass migration there.
sigh. I just want to talk about books!

I'm really glad Christie wrote about characters that aged and specifically how they were treated. We really need to see more of that, since it's an ageist society we live in.
I've had passport before and liked it. My budget is a bit tight for the next 13 months, but after that I would probably want to pay for passport again. it's certainly a worthy cause.
I have finally started my re-read of They Do It With Mirrors, and will start both Death in the Andamans and Murder After Christmas soon.

My point is, there are plenty of good things to read and watch for free so finding them is kind of a treasure hunt for me. Thrifty!
I haven't started yet - I will by Monday, I think - but accidentally was reading in the spoiler thread which was a mistake. I would guess I have read it, but it's been long enough I don't remember any of it. Looking forward to it!
Susan, I finished Hercule Poirot's Silent Night and while it had minor flaws, it is worth reading. I enjoyed it and plan to read the first one in the series soon. (Well, that's my intention, we'll see how soon.)
Susan in NC wrote: "I just finished our upcoming Marple challenge read, They Do It With Mirrors. Very enjoyable!"I just got that one! I am behind with everything.
Susan in NC wrote: "I’m going to start Death in the Andamans by M.M. Kaye for another group soon. Have the library book (a lovely Large Print edition, yay for my eyes!)"I haven't started it yet, but am currently reading Hercule Poirot's Silent Night, my first time with this author. I think she is is going a good job with Christie's character Poirot. (I assume she invented Inspector Catchpool?)

I honestly might have been remembering it from the previous book, as well. I appreciate everyone's input and doubt I will go back to it.

I might not go back to it, although I've enjoyed the other T&T books. I really like that they age, and how it shows the lack of respect they get as they do so. Their children really do not see them as fully functioning adults, which is horrible.
Really nice, Susan, I don't think we have anything like that but is it always to do with authors/books? Or just any celebration that happens Dec 24? (AI told me that much!) We get a lot of live music at Christmas time where I live, even more than usual.
Susan in NC wrote: "I’m going to start Death in the Andamans by M.M. Kaye for another group soon. Have the library book (a lovely Large Print edition, yay for my eyes!)"thank you for the reminder as I bought the book months ago and have since forgotten I own it!
I gave this 3 stars, as it could have been better. As many have said, it doesn't read like a novel. Also, Hastings doesn't appear to advantage at all. Poirot is himself, and that's lovely, and he solves a pretty good mystery so it's worth reading.
