Nate chuckled at the other boy kneeling to help the other boy up "not on my watch" he said smiling gently helping him up making sure he was steady keeping his hand on Adrians arm to make sure he was okay
Nate rolled his eyes but smiled at the boys antics anyway "well last time I checked no, no I havent been eaten by a unicorn"
"yeah" Nate said with a small chuckle "I guess it would be" Nate followed Adrian out the doors of the great hall
"why not" Nate agreed walking with the boy looking a head as they walked. Nate thought back to the reason he'd come down here in the first place, that stupid letter. it had made him so sad, but Adrian had made it all okay. with an almost silent sigh he did what he always did, he pretended everything was okay. "hopefully a unicorn eats me, it would make for an interesting article in the news letter"
Nate looked over to the other boy and put on a small smile hiding his disappointment at those words before silently hating himself for being disappointed. it wasn't like Adrian would actually like him the same way anyway, he shouldn't have even been assuming he did. pushing away the sad feelings he felt he shrugged trying to be nonchalant "yeah I know man" he said stuffing in hands in his pockets " lets just wander around I guess" he said his smile small and his chest hurting
Nate blushed his face turning red "I.. I umm. well I mean.." Nate stuttered looking down at his feet cursing himself for being such an idiot. he really wanted to flirt with this boy, despite how wrong it would be if he did. he was making a fool of himself in front of this really cute sweet boy that he couldn't help but like
Nate felt heat rise to his face but he ignored it "yeah where too?" he said letting Adrian lead the way
Nate laughed softly already feeling better "what a shocker a Ravenclaw trying to convince a Gryffindor to be wise" he joked smiling at the boy "careful, your good nature might just rub off on me. we wouldn't want that"
"Maybe I don't know how to be anymore" he whispered that mostly to himself but quickly realised how depressing that sounded. he sat up, he blonde hair far too messed for his liking "do you want to go for a walk?" he said looking for a change in topic
Nate squeezed the hands holding his and closed his eyes with a sigh " its not that easy when your pure blood. there are things you have to do... curtain ways that purebloods have to be and behave. its not just my parents, its every pureblood. if I was... to be myself and do what I want... lets just say that it wouldn't end well. sometimes its better to just do as your told" he said putting his head on the table facing there hands, he blew his blonde hair out of his eyes before looking up at the boy "sometimes its safer that way"
Nate nodded pulling his bottom lip between his teeth. he thought it over for a little while, normally he didn't talk about it. not at all. but he felt oddly safe with Adrian. it was probably a mistake to feel that way. Nate let out a breath keeping his eyes on their hands. "its just a letter from my parents" he said sadly, his voice even but his hands shaking in Adrians "they just wrote to say how proud they were that im excelling in my classes. that I would grow up to be an outstanding member of the pure blood society, that the ministry will be proud to have me work there and that what ever girl I marry will be luck" he said rolling his eyes with a sigh "the usual really. they have a life planned out for me... a life hat I know I cant live"
Nate sighed looking down at his shaking hands dropping the fake smile "I don't know" he said honestly
Nate looked over to where Adrian was looking quickly picking the paper off the table "its nothing.. just a letter" he said looking away
"you don't have to. not anymore" he whispered. Nathaniel pulled away slowly still very close to the boy, Nates face was beat red and his hands were shaking but at least Adrian had seemed to have calmed down a little.
