Ooh, that sounds interesting!

This was great!"
Have you watched the show? From what I've read about it, it seems VERY different from the book.
24. Hamilton: The RevolutionReally good book about the making of Hamilton, from Lin Manuel-Miranda reading the book on vacation on through to opening night and beyond. Plus, annotated lyrics!
Kathleen wrote: "I added mine to the Finish Line but it never seems to show up Kathy Hale"Hi, Kathy.
I can see yours. I've uploaded a screenshot of what I see when I look at our list of Discussions: https://www.goodreads.com/photo/user/... . You should be able to see that I can see your list in the Finish Line 2025 folder.
If you're looking for the folder itself, if you go to our Discussions, you have to scroll a ways - General, then our alphabetical folders, then Group Reads, Friday Questions, and then finally the Finish Line 2025 folder.
If you had it bookmarked, your bookmark will still direct you there, even though it was moved to a different folder.
Let me know if you still can't see it... I don't know what we would try next, but we can try something :)
Hello, everyone!I've created the Finish Line 2025 folder for anyone who would like to feel the rush of saying "I made it to my goal!" and the thrill of officially moving your annual list to the Finish Line yourself.
* To move your list when you're done for the year, click the little "edit" link next to your discussion thread's title. On the next page, in the folder drop-down box, select the Finish Line 2025 folder, then hit save. You can still add to your thread once it's been moved, and any bookmarks to the thread will still go to the proper discussion.
* You don't need to move your discussion thread if you're not ready, and you are definitely welcome to keep reading! The folder is merely there and ready for anyone who wants to have the thrill of saying they've hit their goal for the year :)
* If you're not sure how to move your thread, or don't want to screw up, or just don't feel like doing it, no problem! :) I usually go through all of the lists in the first few months of the next year and move the ones I can tell are done. (And if your challenge isn't for the calendar year and your goal doesn't end until sometime in the following year, don't worry: I leave those right where they are.) Again, they can still be added to, and bookmarks will still go to the correct place, so you don't have to worry about your list getting lost.
If you have any questions, you can ask here or send me a private message. (With the way Goodreads has redone their notifications, I might not see it right away, but I'll try to keep an eye out for anything.)
22. On Being Nonprofit: A Conceptual and Policy PrimerThis is a horrible, horrible book.
It should be called "About Nonprofits," not "On Being Nonprofit" - it's more of a sociological examination of different types of nonprofits, for someone who knows *nothing* about nonprofits. If you've been a part of nonprofits or have followed the sector, there's really nothing new in here; if you know nothing about nonprofits, there are a few good descriptions and explanations he provides about different types of nonprofits, different services they provide, nonprofits vs. government services and nonprofits vs. for-profit businesses.
But he so often makes it sound like nonprofits are doing a bad thing by providing services the government won't fund for its citizens and like he thinks nonprofits are sleazy and dishonest. I get it if it's trying to show upsides and downsides, or potential pitfalls that *some* dishonest people take advantage of, but it feels like he focuses on those and stresses those WAY more than the positive things nonprofits do. Therefore, it's just 1 star (the Goodreads version of 1 star) - DID NOT LIKE IT.
21. Over Sea, Under StoneIt was okay. It was slow to start, and I definitely liked The Dark Is Rising more.
20. Welcome to Pawnee: Stories of Friendship, Waffles, and Parks and RecreationThis is a nice behind-the-scenes look at Parks and Rec, and an excellent companion to the Parks and Recollections podcast.
19. I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter(Hispanic Heritage Month)
Eh, it was okay. I'm obviously not the target audience for this book. I'm old enough to be the target audience's parent. It's a fine YA novel. It was a fine read for an adult, too, just not great. But, again, I'm not the target audience.
Ann A wrote: "The House of the Spirits and The Dutch House - both great ones!"Definitely! I had troubles putting down either one! Long lunches, staying up too late, reading outside in the sun until it became dark and cold... :D
