205273 Hello Everyone,

The read-a-thon has officially started. Have you gotten any reading done? I've only managed to get a little bit of reading done so far. Since there is a challenge with this read-a-thon - read an inspirational read - have you been able to pick out a book yet?
Remember that there is also a facebook page and twitter profile for this read-a-thon, and you are more than welcome to check out the conversation going on over there, links below.

Thanks,

205273 Hello Everyone,
It's been busy this side for me, which is why I'm only posting now; though I have been posting on the Twitter and Facebook account for the read-a-thon for those that are interested.
I haven't quite figured out my own tbr for this read-a-thon yet; but I thought that if any of you have got a tbr for this read-a-thon, you are more than welcome to share. Be sure to remember that there is a challenge for this read-a-thon - and that's to read an inspirational book.
And just a last reminder to sign up for those that haven't: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

205273 Hello Everyone,

As I previously posted; the next read-a-thon is going to be from the 9th - 12th of August. I've decided to post the sign up form now, so that it gives everyone enough time to sign up.
Another thing I've decided to throw in as well - I've created a bookmark for this read-a-thon, and everyone who signs up will be sent one of these.
So here is the sign up form:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FA...
Feel free to invite anyone who you think would be interested.

205273 Hello Everyone,

I have finally come up with dates for the next read-a-thon, and there are going to be one or two added extras for this one.
Date: 9 - 12 August 2018
The reason for this particular period, dates and extra day (extra reading time!), is that in South Africa, on the 9th of August is our National Women's Day, so I thought that I'd turn this into a long weekend of reading. Now for the next two surprises:
Theme: Female Inspiration
Challenge: Read an inspirational book and post a review
Now, to explain the two new added items above:
I thought that with this read-a-thon, I would firstly add a theme (relating to Women's Day), and then to also add a challenge as well, which is to read any inspiring book (fiction or non-fiction), then post a review on that book. I unfortunately haven't been able to read an inspiring book this year yet - so I'm definitely going to be participating in this challenge.
I'll also be posting the sign up form in July, so that everyone will have more than enough time to participate in the read-a-thon.

Carmen.

205273 Hello Everyone,

I just thought that I'd check in with all of you to see how reading is going for you? What read-a-thons are you going to be taking part in this year?
I plan on taking part in Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-thon and Bout of Books as well. Feel free to leave a comment about what read-a-thons you're taking part in or if there's any read-a-thons you'd like to suggest for people to take part in.

Hope you guys have a great day,
Carmen.

205273 The closest one that I can think of (that I've read), is 'Lost Dragon' by Abraham Williams, here's the link if you want to check the book out: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

205273 Hello Everyone,

Happy New Year! This is my first post to the group for this year, and it's to give you guys some updates for those who aren't on Twitter or Facebook: The dates for the new 'All Things Happy Read-a-thon' is from the 26th - 28th of February. I've decided that instead of doing it over two days, I'm going to be doing it over three days; which obviously gives everyone a little bit more time to read. I'll also be posting the sign up form tomorrow, so be sure to look out for that!

How has your reading been going so far for February?

Chat Soon,
Carmen.

205273 Hello Everyone,
I've decided to do another update. The next read-a-thon is going to be in August, and I'll probably start planning for it soon. I'll be posting more updates as I go along with the planning. I'll be letting you know what the date is a little bit closer to the time (I'll probably announce it near the end of June, if not sooner).

Chat Soon,
Carmen.

205273 Hello Everyone,
This is another update. In between the read-a-thons that I will be hosting, I'll also be posting various updates on other things going on in the reading/bookish world; and these updates will be taking place on Twitter and Facebook, just to keep the social networks going while there isn't a read-a-thon going on from 'All Things Happy Read-a-thon'. Also, last, but not least, welcome and thank you to all the new members that have joined the group.
Happy Reading,
Carmen.
