Hello readers! For August, our prompt is to choose a book that has been (in the past or present) BANNED. You can choose any book that has been banned at any point in time, in any county! Feel free to share your choices below, along with links to your review once you've finished it so that we can read your thoughts! Chelsea and I are going to kick off August (and this prompt) by reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
<3 Happy reading!
Chelsea wrote: "Woo Hoo! I'm so excited for this. So my book is Force of Nature by Jane Harper and I'm stoked to finally have a reason to shove it up my TBR. <3"That is a GOOD ONE!! I think you will like one a lot Chels!!
OOOH! I see some buddy reads in our future!! I am waiting for The Wedding Date and Sweet Tea and Sympathy to come in for me at the library!
Like Chelsea mentioned in our last message, we have decided to try out monthly prompts for next few months! April's prompt was THE OLDEST BOOK ON YOUR GOODREADS TBR! Please feel free to share what book you're reading with us and come back and tell us your final thoughts/link to review after you finish!
Hi all! I don't know where everyone is from but, in my neck of the woods, things are still pretty chilly. Chilly as in freezing. Freezing as in we had a giant snow blizzard this morning. WHEN WILL IT END??!!
Anyways, in honour of wishful thinking, I have decided to start compiling my summer reading list. I'm thinking books to take to the beach, books to lose myself in, books that I can read while sitting on my balcony drinking lemonade (or sangria...whatever!).
So, that being said, I need some help!
What are books that you'd recommend? What are books (or authors) that make you think summer? What are some books you are saving for your summer reading list?

The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena"
I have never read I Let You Go- crazy, I know!! I have to move that one up on my list. It has been on my shelf for ages.
Rachel wrote: "Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult. The Grave Tender by Eliza MaxwellPretty Girls by Karin Slaughter"
Jodi Picoult always has some amazing plot twists! Everything that woman writes is gold! I also loved Pretty Girls. I'll have to add The Grave Tender!
Quillracer wrote: "I can't think of a single Harlan Coben stand-alone I've read that didn't have more twists than a mountain road.Evan Hunter's Criminal Conversation had a twist at the end that haunted me for a lon..."
I have read a couple of Harlan Coben's earlier books and I loved them; I'll have to get back into them! I haven't read anything recent!
Kelly wrote: "I just purchased this on my kindle. Super excited to start this one soon!"I just got this one on my Kindle too!
Amanda wrote: "I am so excited that this won. It has gotten glowing reviews from so many of my GR friends. My copy should be here today I’m going to have to put a lock around it so I don’t devour it right away."I am so excited too! I've only heard good things!!
Well, after becoming totally addicted to ACOTAR, I have decided to continue my YA Fantasty journey and I am going to read The Cruel Prince for this month. I put my hold in at the library! Hurray!
The author reached out to one of our members and sent a link to some discussion questions (Thanks for passing this along, Dianne!). I figured I would post them here!
How did you feel about Helena's mother? Do you feel as though she was in the right - trying to restrict Helena's time with Bethany? Do you think Helena was justified in cutting off contact with her after that day? Do you think she was a good mother? A good grandmother?
How different do you think the Ghostwriter/Author relationship would have been if Mark had been female? Would she have shared more sooner or held back things?
Did Simon actually love Helena? Or did he marry her as a cover?
If you were Helena in the panic room, would you have done the same thing she did?
Jamie wrote: "A book about time travel: The Time Traveler's Wife - maybe this will be the year I finally read this! And it will also cover the "book made into a movie you have already seen" promp..."I really liked The Time Traveller's Wife; that is the perfect book for that prompt!
Erin wrote: "The plot twist in the book Atonement by Ian McEwan is a gut punch. Also Jodi Picoult's My Sisters Keeper."Oh ya, the twist in My Sister's Keeper was insane! I was so angry when I watched the movie and they completely changed the story.

Chelsea wrote: "One of my favorite classics with a twist was The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. I remember reading that as a teenager and it blowing my mind."I have never even heard of that one! I gotta look it up. Holding back on me Chels! lol
Amanda wrote: "The two that came immediately to mind were: The Weight of Silence and The Stranger. I absolutely love Harlan Coben's stuff. :)And I second [book:The Butterfly Garde..."
I loved The Butterfly Garden too but I hated the end!
I was just browsing Buzzfeed and came across this article which made me cry laughing. So relatable. The book struggle is real. https://www.buzzfeed.com/jamiejones/t...
Dennis wrote: "This book is one of my favorites (I think it's actually my second favorite) for 2017. I hope you all enjoy!!!"That good eh??!! I am planning on starting it ASAP but I have to wait for 70 other people at the library to enjoy it first. Yikes....
