Here is a list of books I plan to read and would like to buddy read with. I am not posting dates because I they are up for grabs depending on whether I get anyone that wants to read by the time I feel like reading the book.

Hello Fellow Spine Crackers,
I would like to introduce a new aspect of Crack the Spine. It is an extra and participation is voluntary. It would help to get more people conversing and reading things that they want with other people.

All you do it post the books you plan to read soon as many as you would like you can also post the times you would like to read them but those are always open to changing when you find a buddy.

This is a trial run on this to see if anyone likes it or is interested in it.

If you see a book on someone else's list that is also on yours or you just want to read that book with someone else cause it sounds interesting just let them know. If we get to people that want to discuss the book I will make a thread for that book so they can discuss it.

This is for the discussions on the book The Signature of all Things. I could not participate in this book read this month because I was unable to obtain the book.

I am sorry this discussion thread was added so late. Please feel free to discuss anything about the book here and I will try to get some discussion questions going if possible.

I have finished the book. But I can say that I did not like reading the rape scene either but moving forward in the book you will understand why is was an important part of the book on how it effects Aliena and others in there lives for years.

I hope you enjoy it has much as I did toward the end you will not want to put it down.

I really can’t believe that Tom died. Especially like that. And when Jack become a monk I practically screamed nooooooooo. This is aweful. What is Ellen to do without Tom. Who will replace him at the church? Oh I am dying right now.

Anyone else get super excited when prior Phillip and Tom Builder pulled one over on bishop walran and Henry and all the Hamleighs not one but twice. Oh my I was so happy.

Now that I am finished with the second chapter I am just going to say that I am completely captivated by this book and wanting to know what it going to happen to the characters that are in it now and curious about the other characters that will be added later on. I can not pinpoint and reason why I am so intrigued by this book but the writing is very interesting and the character stories are very catching. What is so special about Ellen and her son? Why is Tom so captivated by her? What is the child Brother Phillip has taken in going to be like? What is going to happen with this information Phillip has told the Archdecon? And most importantly, why did the archdecon use great deception to get his nomination? Was he already dead when Phillip saw him the first time?

There are so many questions in my head about this book already and I think Mindy picked and amazing choice.

Sorry I am reading a lot slower than everyone else is. It’s been a busier week for me than normal.

I know but if it’s the same woman fro the prologue maybe she is a witch or something and has charmed him. I mean let’s be honest he thought an angel was having sex with him at first so maybe this is somehow he doing and deliberately

I am just going to be honest I have just finished the first chapter and I am appalled how e could leave his newborn baby to die then think twice and go back and save it to sleep with a woman hours after his wife died and find his baby only to leave it again in the hands of priests then ask another woman to be his wife literally hours after his first wife died that he claimed to have loved. Seriously I can’t understand that at all. I mean in a way leaving the newborn because it would die anyway in those times because of lack of food is sad because he could have carried it with him until it died or by luck found a way to feed him.

Yea that’s fine.

Or any month that could be mine next I don’t think shannon has picked a book month yet tho.

Can we do gone with the wind for March I have never read it and would love to read it with someone.

I would have to agree I actually added it to my favorite reads shelf in my little library lol.

Mindy you will love the ending I think all the deception and crazy happenings. Has to be one of my top reads of the year.

If your like me you will love the book because it answers all your questions and some you didn’t know you had lol

I kind of had a feeling that the Lady Glyde would not be dead because that to me would conclude the book and there is still another lofty section to go. Recalling what I read at the beginning of that section about the woman Anne Catherick being sick and the only troubles with Laura Farlie, or Lady Glyde, was that she was down with depression over the state of her family affairs and the onset of Typhus fever of Halcomb. I assumed that the lady that died could not have been Lady Glyde because she was not sick in the heart like that. However it really perplexed me why she would trade places with Laura at all unless her only intention was to be buried with Laura’s mother whom she practically idolizes or maybe it was regret from not preventing the marriage to Sir Percival that made her want to help her out and not get poisoned or anything. However the conclusion of this section still did not tell what Sir percivals secret was that caused Anne to be locked away in the asylum for her silence and has caused all this fuss to begin with. I hope they reveal this secret in the book because I will be very disappointed to not know the secret that caused Anne to be locked away for her to hunt down Laura and then to eventually cause her to switch places with her. That secret being kept caused all of this to happen like ripples in a lake in my opinion.
