I love the dressing as well! Casseroles are a must, and I'm a huge sweets person. My Memaw makes a killer coconut pie!
I feel like it kinda takes me out of the story to some extent. Maybe that has to do with the writing, too. If a book is really well-written, you won't think about it as much. I don't have trouble with historicals because they're SO different, but I admit to having some issue with stuff set in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s.
Sometimes I go back and re-read a book, only to feel quite differently about it the second time around because it doesn't feel current anymore. What are some older books you have re-read that can stand the test of time? What are some books that cannot? Does that infkuence your enjoyment of the books?
A lot of Diana Palmer books are hard to re-read for me because she puts in a lot of cultural references, like video games, that date the books significantly.
I'm a huuuge fan of epilogues, and the way they can really give that extra touch of joy to a romance novel. Are you an epilogue fan? What book has your favorite one? Do you have a particular author you think writes the best epilogues?
Do you connect with romance heroines or are they just conduits needed to access your dangerous hero?

I'm not sure....I just find them over the top annoying, and they have some serious TSTL moments. Plus, I don't like the thing she does in that series where the next hot bunch guy who will have a book has the hots for the current guy's woman (confusing enough?). LOL!

The best example I can ..."See, I think that's the reason Rock Chicks is my least favorite of KA's books. She's one of my very favorites, but those heroines are too much for me.

I'm so with you, Shannon. I definitely like the hero to be the aggressor. I guess I'm a sexist, too! Lol!

Thanks to paganalexandria for the question suggestion! If you have a question you'd like to suggest, please do so here
Alisa wrote: "My hero was Rule Turner from the World of Lupi. I'm totally smitten with him."I love Rule!! That series is so under-rated....more people need to give it a try!
Lady Danielle aka The Book Huntress wrote: "Is that the version with JJ Feild? I liked it too. You will have to share Rupert with me and my sister. :)"Yep, that's the one! I suppose I can share ;-)
I agree about the BBC version of Sense and Sensibility, Danielle! I love it. I taped it today, and am excited to watch it again. I really like their new version of Northanger Abbey, too. It's really fun...much more light-hearted Austen.
Rupert Penry-Jones is one of my boyfriends, so I adore his version of Persuasion.
We spend a lot of time talking about our favorite heroes, but the heroine can make or break a book. Who is your favorite heroine? Why?What are your favorite characteristics in a heroine?
I just finished
and
, and enjoyed them both!I needed something light after the intensity of the Psy LOL!
I don't like TSTL, but I also really dislike the uber-alpha heroine. I like them somewhere in the middle lol!
Morana wrote: "I love Nalini Singh (Psy Changeling). I liked Visions of Heat enough to give four stars, but Faith is one of those characters I did not like."So agree with this!
Oooh, I love Braden too, Angie! Kristen Ashley heroes are always super possessive. These are my favorite types of heroes, I must say....icing on the cake if they're really tortured LOL!
