I wish those promoting AI so much would read a few dystopian novels and other science fiction.

Sounds like it. The only caveat in regards to units is that the members own the property. They can have renters but it's the owners that belong. So only the owner of an entire apartment complex is a member, but in a building of condos, it's the unit owners who belong. I'm not sure what is meant by "corporation" in a strata council though.

Storytel is available in a lot of countries. I recommend you check it out if you aren't in the US. It's unlimited audiobooks and matches closely to Hoopla I'm told.

Great idea!
I wish I'd had an e-reader when I used to take month-long trips. Although charging them would be hard in some of the out of the way places I got to go. But the books on the hostels "free" shelves were mostly bodice-ripper romances which are not my thing. So I bought books and carried them with me. I think they weighed almost as much as my clothes! :)

It's really cool to hear about what's happening in various countries. Here in the US (at least in Seattle and the Bay Area in California) they have what they call "little libraries" all around town. It's run by a nonprofit. They're just small shelves in small cases on stands around the city. You can leave or take books. There's no commitment to leave one because there are enough people who get rid of their books that way. My friend is constantly sending me ones in like new condition that I read and then put in one of ours.
We also have some used bookstores but not nearly as many now that there are so many online and most sell through Amazon or Better World Books. The brick and mortar ones, though, also buy books and generally you can get book credit or half as much in cash. You don't get much, though. I just love perusing used bookstores. The two big ones nearby sell both new and used books so they do better.
I think it's amazing that a government would get involved in that kind of literacy program!

I'm a Whovian so I need to point out that Doctor Who is not Dr. Who. We take this very seriously. :) Can the spreadsheet be changed to reflect the correct name?
Thanks muchly. :)

We're so spoiled here in the US, although with the huge uptick in books being banned by our own administration, we're losing ground. I'm still very appreciative of all the stuff I have access to. I'm very lucky.

Unfortunately what's in Libby is just what the library pays for. Some people have mentioned that their library uses Hoopla but I don't know anything about that.
I, too, have access to three libraries which helps a lot. I don't even look in the regular library catalog, just online, so I stream or download all my audiobooks. I also have an audible subscription for the stuff my library doesn't have. That gets pricey though.

Good for you! I get most of my books from the library so I can't guilt myself into slowing down.

Earlier this year I pared it down 1500 books but now it just stays the same, probably same as Keely.

If you like reading M/M romance, every year the M/M Romance Group runs a scavenger hunt where you have to find books that fit multiple categories and you are trying to get points so you want to find the book with the best fit. It's done once a year starting in April usually and goes for 6 months. We're just finishing for this year, but keep it in mind for next year.

I have no idea how many books I read that will fit. Usually I read a book a day and I figure 2/3rds will match letters. Right now, though, a mentally ill and cruel roommate is creating havoc. If I weren't in the middle of it, I think it would be entertaining.
(view spoiler)[You should see how many ways she (A) tried to wake me up today. I usually sleep days and she thinks I'm asleep. Nope. Not until our landlord (M) gets home when the woman improves a lot. A's supposed to be gone at the end of the month, we'll see, but that's why she's sucking up to M. A thinks she can coerce M into letting her stay a bit longer. M says no but she doesn't like conflict and has given in to A before. It's been going on for months and I'll give notice if M lets A stay again. I can't do this anymore. Maybe I'll write a book when it's over. Or a soap opera. (hide spoiler)]Anyway, while she's here I'm reading a lost less.

I'm not seeing that in the folder I thought this would be in. Can you give me the URL of the folder? Thank you so much!

Spell challenges are my favorites, too! When do sign-ups open?
