Reasons why I love reading--1. The many experiences that you gain insight to,
2. It gives a window into how others may perceive the world around them,
3. It can be a very important escape from day-to-day life.
4. It can transport one to any historical events and times.
5. Reading can be very emotional and it can also be an emotional escape.
5. Also, the way my imagination is stretched, for example reading fantasy and science fiction.
6. Becoming invested in a set of characters and worlds as I as a reader learn more about them. The world and character building of a good book is great.
Hmm. Depends on how public. I would have to come down on the lakeside. It gives a better shade with trees. Also, when the wind blows the sound through the trees with waves lapping at the shore. Very peaceful.
I am hopeful that Doors of Stone, the third in Patrick Rothfuss Kingkiller Chronicle will be published.Peace Talks by Jim Butcher, and I just saw that he will have another coming in September! Battle Ground. Both of these titles are in the Dresden Files, so I am definitely eager to read!!
Shakespeare for Squirrels by Christopher Moore,Walking Alone: Short Stories and The Handyman by Bentley Little.
Favorite reading setting: anywhere I can lounge and have only my legs in the sun. Blanket is optional. And music in the background.

I went back to my reading history for these titles. Some I may go back and try to actually read, and some I may not go back to at all.
The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying VampiresDigitally I still have the House of Doors that I hope to be finishing up soon.
For new book inspirations I like browsing the stacks. I also check out Fantastic Fiction and GoodReads for new books.
I have Jane Goes North by Joe R. Lansdale checked out.Digitally I also have House of Doors by Chaz Brenchley.
Oh yes. I reread books all the time! Sometimes I get stuck and start rereading a series, so feel like I have to finish. But yes, I do this all of the time.
I have never listened to a podcast before. I know my husband does frequently at work, but I have not. I had no clue that there were any podcast available on this topic. Interesting.
I would probably try to see the title. If it was an author I knew, I might try to engage in a conversation. I know how I am when I am interrupted while reading though...and I might not bother them.
I kind of like the idea of having a fantasy-themed bookish party.Dragon decorations.
Goblets
Wands
Elven and Dwarvish script around the room
"Ancient" book of prophecies displayed
Food that would be easy to eat by hand; chunked chicken, bread, and cheeses and fruits
Fairy lights strung throughout the room
and have everyone dress up in fantasy characters
Penance for Jerry KennedyI am finishing this. It feels like it is taking me forever!
Jane Goes North
I reread many books. Here are a few titles and series I have reread many times.Little Women
The House of Doors
The Eyes of the Dragon
All of the Harry Potter Series, all of the Codex Alera series.
Lol, just to name a few.
I finished Pennies for the Ferryman, and loved it! I am reading Penance for Jerry Kennedy.
I will be reading next The Last Dog on Earth.
Long books vs short books? I love them both. Sometimes the story is short and fast, and you race to the finish! With long books, it helps build the world and the characters so that it makes you care more about the characters and the world!
E-book definitely. Although I prefer a physical copy, I would choose an e-book over an e-audiobook. While reading, nuance, and cadence of the way a book is read helps create the mental image. If someone else is reading it, it alters the perception of what is read. Although sometimes good, I would rather have my own interpretation.
