Welcome! (162 new)
May 04, 2021 07:42AM

45374 I see there's been a quite a bit of activity lately! I haven't read most the other threads yet but I'll get caught up. Anyway, I'll reintroduce myself because I'm sure the last time this group was active was back in 2011 or so.

I'm Connor, I created this group when I read A Tale of Two Cities. I fell in love with Dickens' writing style and character development, but sadly, I haven't read much of his work since. I read A Christmas Carol a couple times and I read Oliver Twist last year, which I really enjoyed.

Sorry about the inactivity everyone. I think I'll take a look at the rules, who the mods are, etc. I was really young when I made this group so it probably needs some work.

45374 Oliver Twist was awesome until I had to turn it in. School was almost out when I when I was reading it. I got about halfway through. I read some of Bleak House and didn't get into it much, but I heard it was great. I've also heard Our Mutual Friend is great by several people too :)

I'm leaving for the Army in just two days so I won't be on here for awhile. Probably around late August or early September.

45374 I was actually thinking of reading that after I finish Les Miserables. I really want to finish Les Mis before I do anything else though. Maybe for a February read?

45374 Or now, we could do it in like, Mid January or February, haha. Sorry this has been really inactive.

45374 Hey thanks for joining the group! When I finish Les Miserables, I may read another Dickens book and hopefully we can have more group discussions. We've been a little inactive lately, but it could work and I don't want the group to die.

45374 You're farther than a lot of us I'm sure, haha. I haven't really read at all this summer.

45374 I started it awhile ago and never finished it. I really liked it though. I'll have to pick it up again sometime.

45374 I don't think we've actually read anything in this group. I think we've gone so far as to intend to read something though. :P
