Hi :) You guys have really kept the group going. I'm going to try and connect more often and participate more.
Well I haven't been back in a while and I just realized that I actually read this book around the time the group did. I remember my teacher reading it to us in 4th grade and liking the story. I've seen the movie and I've even given the book as a gift (those nice Barns and Noble collectors editions) and I have been wanting to go back and read it again. I finally did and I didn't find it as entertaining as I remembered it. But I guess having it read to you is different and I also found the Yorkshire accent a bit distracting. But overall I'm glad I went back and read it and I have a nice edition to put on my book shelf.

Rosie and Mel, that is great you are almost there. I have managed to read 14 so far. Which means that from when I discovered the list of books on the bookmark I have doubled my amount. I was at 7 when I started the group.
Here is the link for the 2016 one.... http://www.popsugar.com/love/Reading-...
I have already crossed off 10 :D
I can finally cross off His Dark Materials.... That took me forever.... I also just reread the first Harry Potter book, the illustrated edition. :)
Well I only managed to cross off 8 books from the challenge, but I have started this years and already have 10 crossed off plus the list has less books this year. Sorry I've been away so long school has kept me busy.
I need to get it too, if not as a prize when i finish maybe before for some motivation to finish. Then i can show it off. :)
Buck, that was my original thought that I could multy task if i was doing an audio book, but then i started thinking i might zone out and not pay attention. It hadnt even occured to me to look into the library to try one out until you mentioned it. So I am currently registering online. :) I already read during my comute because i take the bus to work. But sometimes you dont feel like lugging around a big book so the audio version on your phone would be convinient. Well i will let you know how it goes lol. Thanx for your input.

Your mind doesnt wander becuase you arent focusing on reading the words?
Hello everyone, hope all is well. Sorry I haven't been around much but Lisa has been doing a great job keeping the group going. Any ways the reason for my post is I was wondering how many of you have used Audio Books and what you thought of them? I havent had much time to sit and read and I figured an audio book might do the trick, but im not sure. So i figured i'd go to the people that like me like to read. Hope you all have a great day.Mayra
We had to read this in high school, but my language arts teacher didn't like this book so she said we could read it for extra credit. I didnt make it. I think i read like 3 or 4 chapters and that was it. I have not attempted since. I did just recently read East of Eden and even though it took a while, i got through so I might try and attempt this one once again.
yeah i know the book is always better, i have learned that from reading lots of books that have been turned into a movie, i was just wondering. I wonder if i will still be intresting if i already know the main points u know?
I just watched The Theory of Everything, and i was wondering if any of you had read the book, Traveling to Infitnity My Life With Stephen by Jane Hawking? If you would recomend it.
I have now managed to corss off 5 books from the list and i just started The Kite Runner to fill the book to movie category. :)
