Terrier groaned in exasperation. "You should know my humor by now, we've been best friends for what- five years now?"

They reached the expanse of lawn in front of the mansion, people were already snatching choice spots, in the shade and setting up targets and other instruments. Terrier grabbed Evangalines arm and ran over to the edge of the lawn, under a huge willow tree whos over hanging branches almost hid them from view. "stay here" she instructed as she dashed off to gather some equipment.

"training an employee?" Terrier said incredulously.

"But you could sure try harder." Terrier said teasingly. "Lets go, before all of the good places are taken!"

"The training field. Not the Arena. First years aren't allowed in there. neither are second years or third years. This will be my first time going, But I'll miss it today to be your companion in the training field." Terrier explained. "Ussually first years don't even know about it... " she threw a murderous glare at Alex. "So don't ask any more questions."

"Allright, if you say so." Terrier cleared her plate and stood up. She elbowed Alex. "The Arena isn't for first years, you know that!"

"is something going on I don't know about?" Terrier looked in mock suspicion at the three of them. "I saw that, you know. No need to act like I'm not here."
Terrier finished up her orange juice. "We go to the training feild. You know, that big grassy place you see when we first walk in." She explained.

Terrier glanced at Evangaline. "Whats the deal with you today?" She asked. "Its not like I'm some monster!"

"pfft" Terrier made a derisive noise. "Not magic. Manipulation of earth energy."

" Hi" Terrier said, not looking up from her food.

"Fine." Terrier said.

Terrier put a bit of everything on her plate, and a lot of waffles, then sat down.

The ampitheater was huge, making room for an enourmous crowd. There were five levels and a stage at the bottom, each with rows of benches and tables. "Hey, theres a table over there." Terrier motioned to the bottommost level. "Lets hurry up before the waffles are gone."

Terrier ran to catch up. "Its this way." She said pointedly, motioning to a nearly hidden path that cut through the dense undergrowth.

"Theres breakfast in the amphitheater, except on wednesdays." Terrier said, ignoring her other statement. "I think they'll be having a big welcome feast for us today so we should hurry and get a good spot."

Terrier shook her head, and went out into the common room. I tiny doubt itched the back of her mind. She hadn't known Evangaline to be such a good actor.

Terrier shrugged and laughed. "Boys are immature like that. They love playing jokes and encouraging things like that. And yes, as a matter of fact I do remember. I was getting a bit of a headache so I laid down on the armchair and fell asleep. I woke up a bit later and went to my bunk and went back to sleep. Nothings odd about that. I get headaches all of the time"

"Its not a question of your character, Evangaline." Terrier rolled her eyes. "Its a thing first years love to do- in fact its like a tradition. Seth and Alex are probably in on it!"

"Thats not funny!" Terrier exclaimed. "really its not. I know it might be fun to trick me into beleiving something like that, now that you know magic is real, but really!"

"Other than I went to sleep early and woke up late? No." Terrier said. Her hair was tangled and her eyes were red rimmed from exhaustion as she began to make her bed.

"Yeah." Terrier yawned. "Why?"
